The US Government is not admitting the accuracy of Star Wars To help fuel these explorations, the United States is about to get its first really “big press” — a two-story-high crusher that scientists have been dreaming about for a decade, powered by a hydraulic ram that can exert 6,000 tons of force. The instrument, nicknamed Ichiban, will allow scientists to compress significantly larger samples, improving our understanding of what happens to materials under extreme conditions. It’s part of a $13.7 million, nationally funded facility, called FORCE, that will house a suite of instruments with new squishing, squeezing and twisting capabilities. “We’re at an exciting time. Our ignorance is still so profound that we’re asking really basic questions,” said Joseph O’Rourke, a planetary scientist at ASU. Kurt Leinenweber, one of the leaders of the new FORCE facility at ASU, recalls a trip he took to Japan in 1989, when he first got to use a multi-anvil press that could create in a lab some of the mineral changes that occur inside Earth. https://www.washingtonpost.com/science/2023/07/18/earth-layers-high-pressure-laboratory/
Nope, but a lot of alcohol was. I would have been the stereotypical belligerent guy who reeked of booze talking about his UFO.
An underwhelming dud. Hell, as skeptical as I am, I really wanted to see some type of evidence that would jar me.
The statistical probability of life developing on another planet, evolving intelligent, then crafting metal gadgets, then have it hurdled through the universe (either on purpose or accidently), then randomly finding its way into our solar system and randomly into our orbit and landing somewhere locatable would be astronomical.
Time traveling humans from the future makes a lot more sense. We would definitely do that if we could - we are obsessed with ourselves. And it avoids all of the statistical pitfalls you point out. Still requires violating the laws of physics as we understand them but seems more likely than it being extraterrestrial for all the reasons you listed.
You’re presuming that the B theory of time is true, that all points in time are equally real and exist together. As much as I like the idea of time travel, and love time travel movies, I hold to the A theory of time, in which there exists a preferred present and only that is real.
At least that's what the government wants you to believe. I heard it was all a ruse to destroy evidence that implicated Hunter. Sure, sure, you may say he wasn't born yet, but that just proves how much devious foresight the Deep State uses to cover for the Biden Crime Family
Its not even about the bomb, its about how the US government was worried Jewish communists were getting too good at math
The statistical probability of there being life on earth has to also be very high, though I don’t know if it’s astronomical. Your comments reminded me of the Fermi Paradox. I got the following from Wikipedia as a refresher of the reasoning. There are billions of stars in the Milky Way similar to the Sun. With high probability, some of these stars have Earth-like planets in a circumstellar habitable zone. Many of these stars, and hence their planets, are much older than the Sun. If Earth-like planets are typical, some may have developed intelligentlife long ago. Some of these civilizations may have developed interstellar travel, a step humans are investigating now. Even at the slow pace of currently envisioned interstellar travel, the Milky Way galaxy could be completely traversed in a few million years. Since many of the Sun-like stars are billions of years older than the Sun, the Earth should have already been visited by extraterrestrial civilizations, or at least their probes. However, there is no convincing evidence that this has happened.“Where is everybody!?
Doesn’t “time” measure entropy? I’ve gone from one cell in my mother’s womb to a man who’s orbited the sun nearly 80 times. Now that’s some entropy …… and the passage of time.
