Flash bangs are phosphorous and magnesium. They actually burn pretty dang hot. I'd think a better approach in a situation like this is cut the lights and go in with NODs if there are no windows in the classroom.

 

That’s a nice idea, but might not be as useful if there’s daylight penetration into a the room being breached. I prefer flash bangs because of the stunning effect, but you point is well-received. I would imagine that unless the grenade toss is a direct hit or very close to a hostage, the chances of burning are low or negligible, considering what’s at stake.

Wonder how many hours it would have taken to wait around for an available electrician to show up to turn the lights off

 

Would they wait on it? Bang is great if someone had one on their kit. Did they think doors were locked and were looking for tools? Just heard they called a negotiator? Leadership out of its depth.

Did they know two class. Rooms at first? Hit both doors and break and rake….
