New LB coach (Ron Roberts - co-DC/LB)

We will be a little older. Maturity takes time. Unfortunately.

 

Some will be older but we may be just as young overall

 

And he acknowledged that and went out and fixed it.

 

Is Roberts officially onboard?

 

A too premature pronouncement. If James returns full speed from his injury, he's the only LB on the roster with more than a handful of tackles at the college level at this point. It would be nice to get a real experienced run-stopper in the portal.

 

I realize that hope springs eternal and new additions are welcomed just as much as the ones leaving are panned. Bateman was signed almost immediately as LB-DC for aTm. Do you honestly think they are looking at the addition as a serious error in judgment? We are FINALLY getting some talent in to play inside LB. Dumbo (and let's be honest, Napier and the transfer process) really screwed up. Miller was decent but not in the conversation as an all-timer. He was about it. James was decent but undersized. I sincerely hope he used the time to get much stouter. And yes, I can see where older coaches get complacent and don't always bring it like they used to (I guess Raymond fits this to a T).

I think we will be better just because we have better talent. Now, will the young guys catch on well enough to make a difference in the wins and losses? In what I believe is Napier's real "show-me" season? We shall see.

 

I hope it’s a good year for UF and we keep Napier! Gonna be tough but only time will tell.

Must be waiting for his buyout from Auburn? We have three junior days back to back the next 3 weekends. Would be great to introduce him to visitors.

Not listed as a coach on UF website, not officially announced by UF, and not seen on campus for most recent junior day this weekend.

It is just unusual that he has not been announced. Roberts was fired at Baylor and then allegedly had an altercation with Coach McGriff that resulted in him being let go by Auburn. Just find it odd that UF has not announced his hire and that he is not on campus currently. Just trying to understand why the delay. I see the Twitter page but saw TRob hired and start at UGA in 3 days.

 

Yay, now we can stop handwringing over whether he’s been hired or not and move right in to why he’s a terrible hire that will never work!

 

Not good enough for some here. Can we get it in blood?

 

The angst was comical. I can’t imagine how some handle real life issues.
