New five-star Florida commit LJ McCray says "no limit" to where the Gators program can go

Billy Napier and his coaching staff add another five-star to 247Sports' No. 3 ranked recruiting class, one that is hitting at all the key positions.


The two most potentially pivotal recruiting wins a college football program has had on the trail this 2024 cycle have both gone in Florida’s favor. The first one came back in December, with Billy Napier and his staff landing a pledge from Willis (Texas) High five-star (franchise) quarterback DJ Lagway over the likes of Clemson, Texas A&M and USC.

The second one came Saturday.

Daytona Beach (Fla.) Mainland five-star defensive lineman LJ McCray announced his intentions to suit up for the Gators during a live broadcast on the 247Sports YouTube Channel, choosing UF over Auburn, Florida State, Georgia and Miami. Alongside Lagway and another five-star in safety Xavier Filsaime, the 6-foot-6, 260-pound McCray adds to the jewels of a class ranked No. 3 nationally by 247Sports.

A group that could get this storied program back to the promised land.
