New 2024 SEC Football Schedule Discussion

The A&M boards are reporting the game against the Gators is in Gainesville.

Any game against A&M is a bit absurd considering it would be our 5th game against them since they joined the SEC in 2012 (3 on the road, 1 at home) ... while during the same timeframe, UGA has only played them once, in Athens.

But to make UF travel to A&M in '20, '22, and '24 is indefensibly biased and stupid.

 

Is this a welcome to the SEC tour?

 

It makes sense though for an 8 game season. 1 obvious game against each other leaves 7 opponents remaining for each.

Is there a better way other than splitting the remaining 14 SEC teams equally between the two?

 

There are rumors of UF playing OU ... I find this for more likely than UF playing Texas, especially when you consider the earlier rumors that OU would a be a permanent opponent of UF should the SEC go to a 9 game, 3 permanent opponent scheduling.

 

Alabama and Georgia will meet during the 2024 regular season in Tuscaloosa, which will be only their
fifth regular-season matchup in the past 20 years, sources told ESPN on Wednesday.

The SEC made it a priority to maintain the historical rivalries in 2024. Alabama will play at Tennessee and LSU,
for instance, while Texas A&M will face LSU at home and Arkansas at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Also, Texas will travel to Arkansas in a meeting of old Southwest Conference rivals, and Oklahoma and Texas will
continue their annual rivalry at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. Georgia will keep its annual rivalries with Auburn, Florida
and Tennessee.
