That's the only trip he should be taking...

I am OK with the President meeting with Jordan, Egypt and the PA. They won't meet with him now because whatever the truth is will not matter to the Jew hating street in the Arab world. They cannot

Don't you think he should reach a consensus with Israel first?

Jordan cancels Joe Biden... He's a failed excuse for a Liberal Leftist's leader.

Israel and the US are aligned. Biden is trying to rally support in the Middle East.

Everyone has domestic political constituencies that limit their flexibility. Look how many votes Jim Jordan got

You got a point, wouldn't shock me...part. if you are using humans as shields, all the atrocities, etc...

But their weapons are generally much less sophisticated. I would assume a failure.

    Regev makes good point here:

A little frustrating history. Palestinian Islamic Jihad was partially centered at the University of South Florida in the 1990s. The Clinton administration went after them with deportation proceedings for the professors that were affiliated. It became a cause celeb and GW accused the Clinton administration of ethnic profiling in one of the debates and likely won Florida and the presidency based upon the support he got from the Islamic community based upon those statements.

There was already consensus with Israel. Read the speech Biden gave. There is no ambiguity.

He was originally expected to meet with Netanyahu in Tel Aviv on Wednesday, then fly to Amman, to meet Jordan's King Abdullah, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Abbas. But the latter cancelled.

One thing seems depressingly certain. A lot of people will die, including a lot of innocents, that would not have but for this totally random explosion. It seems that a lot of leaders from all sides were working behind the scenes, led by our administration, to try to find the best way out. Whether they could have sold whatever resulted to their domestic political constituencies is unknown. Maybe nothing would have resulted. But everything seems worse now.

Very tragic, but such is the stuff of human history. I'm not trying to trivialize it, just making that observation.

I hope that whatever the best case result, which itself would not be good, just the least bad, can be rescued. But it doesn't feel like it right now.

That particular state election was so tight I could make an argument that the Milton Society for Preservation of Eight-Track Tapes was the decisive swing vote.

They released his planned speaking points:

“But I’ll never forget. I’ll never forget that Bibi Netanyahu let us down. That was a very terrible thing.” “Hezbollah is very smart”. “Thousands of people knew about it and they let this slip by. ” “They’ve got to straighten it out,”.

I have no idea who bombed it. I realize that reacting strongly to initial reports is a mistake here. Both sides have reasons to be less than truthful.

It doesn't matter who bombed it -- both sides will blame each other forever and people will believe what they want to believe.

Why would Israel bomb a hospital the day before President Biden is scheduled to go to Israel? It would be idiotic.

Maybe. Multiple factors, any one of which could have made the difference. But that was definitely one of them

By all accounts locally they were very nice people. They just helped fund and organize suicide bombings in Israel. But they were never a problem locally.

After putting more than two seconds of thought into it (which was the inital time spent before hitting reply) it does seem pretty unlikely that Israel would do this. Like I said though I'm learning to be less reactionary. I'm just horrified by all this stuff. I am truly trying to understand this whole thing and the history behind the conflict.

To note though, I think Hamas needs to be wiped out completely and side with Israel. I couldn't believe my eyes when the attack was orchestrated. I can't imagine what those 1300 Israelis that were murdered (as well as those kept alive as hostages) went through.
