    Interesting time to deflect.

Btw. It’s not your fault you don’t understand violence and its uses. You have been taught what you know and what you think you know. I wouldn’t expect you to understand.

Awesome news on the hostage rescue. I honestly assumed they were dead. Very happy to see that. The videos of reunions with their families are wonderful.

I did hear on the radio that one Israeli soldier was killed in the rescue operation.

Gaza (grain of salt) saying 200 people were killed. I’m really curious how they did it. This is the sort of thing that will make for a great film a decade from now.

While the number of probably exaggerated if Hamas didn't take the Israelis hostage in the first place all of those Palestinians would still be alive given that there wouldn't have been any need for the hostage rescue. Similarly if Hamas didn't violently resist the attempt to rescue the hostages there would have been far fewer causalities.

I didn’t mean to suggest it wasn’t justified. It just sounds like it was a fight. It will be cool to learn how it unfolded.

Reportedly, the hostages were held captive by regular people, not even Hamas military.

I think it's a distinction without a real difference. While they were being held in a regular residential apartment building they were kidnapped and placed there by Hamas fighters. They certainly weren't free to return to Israel.

The distinction is that these ordinary “innocents” served as the captors.

We have no idea if they were coerced to do so or not. If they were willingly aiding Hamas then they ARE Hamas. No need to try to paint all the innocents in Gaza as complicit because of this.

who is cheering for Hamas? Being critical of Israel does not make one a Hamas supporter. Be better.
