Have you seen the videos of suffering Palestinians? War is a terrible thing, violence will only beget more violence. Hamas needs to be dealt with with extreme prejudice, but afterwards Israel should also take a hard look at themselves. Such an attack, especially with its size yet remarkable surprise, would not be possible without external assistance AND ripe conditions on the ground for radicalizing a lot of the population that's willing to go along with it.

 

Blows my mind how people can be so cruel to each other. Unfortunately it’s just going to get worse from here on out.

There are many videos during that peace concert of Hamas paragliding into the festival and shooting everyone as they landed. Reminds me of Red Dawn (the 1st one, not the recent poor remake) where they parachute into the school grounds and then start shooting the school up. Difference here is Hamas is a bunch of savages with guns and the one was an organized military operation.

 

Those images are horrifying, but I rather doubt that Hamas waited until that German woman was a corpse to strip her. Given that other video we saw where the woman was being forcibly removed from her boyfriend, I would say Hamas is not even pretending that rape is not one of the tools they are using to sow terror.

I agree, we have eyes and ears in lots of places. Our IC can and does some good work, but they have undermined themselves to an extent. For example, much a hubbub was made when President Trump supposedly “sided” against the USIC when on stage with Putin, but it turns out there’s very real evidence and reason to believe we were lied to about Russian interference in the 2016 election. Or at least the extent of it. So while they have some amazing capabilities, they are not the infallible, can’t miss agency that many make them out to be and that they themselves purport to be. Like any other large government bureaucracy, they have their self-imposed limitations and warts.
