Agreed. Say possible embellishment because, given the effectiveness of the operation, there is every incentive for IRGC to claim credit for domestic and regional purposes. Be curious about whether Iranian mullah level overall leadership approved. Also, still seems odd that there would be so many multi-party planning meetings in other cities with no leaks

 

Unlike you I don’t take satisfaction in any civilian deaths on either side but thanks for pointing out Israel crates a lot of their own issues

I take zero satisfaction in noncombatant deaths of any kind. But I didn’t ask Hamas to conduct this attack and then run behind its civilian population. I’ll just cite a quotation attributed to Golda Meir: “We will have peace when the Arabs love their children more than they hate us.”

They clearly don’t. So we won’t.

 

I’m at 25% skepticism and 75% wishful thinking. I am 100% that WSJ is politically in the bag for the right with their cavalier reporting.

Their reporting is not as hawkish as their Op-Ed. I don’t immediately discount it for bias. But they also don’t have an international news room with the capabilities to break this story, and no one does this fast. Not even sourced to US officials

 

Dangerous Prisoners?

 

Saying it was IRGC, at least for now that there is no direct evidence Tehran was involved. A senior Hamas official indicated Tehran was not involved, and this was a Palestinian and Hamas decision alone. However, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has praised the attack “Zionist regime will be eradicated at the hands of the Palestinian people and the Resistance forces throughout the region.” Obviously, they are politically linked, so who knows. If a link is found to Tehran, then a bigger conflict can be expected.

IMO this is linked to the Israeli - SA agreement, Tehran may not want any alliance that would lead to normalization of relations.
