They have done better for decades, and it led to October 7. Hamas declared war on the civilian Israeli population. Israel is now retaliating against Hamas - cowards who butchered women and children, and then went back to their holes and are hiding among and beneath and behind another civilian population.

On the other hand, we had better all pray that Israel does not truly "do better" by going after those who set the Hamas jackals upon the Israeli civilian population, trained them and armed them. Because if they do decide that they have had enough of Iran, it might very well drag the entire world into the conflict.

I don’t see Israel doing that without a nod from the US first. Not gonna happen.

Scary and surreal. I think this is the same story I posted about wherein Russia’s media is claiming Ukraine incited the mob.

they have the ability to get that guy with much less collateral damage. i do not begrudge them the right to destroy hamas infrastructure and try and isntall some other form of authority, hopefully int'l, with approval from Jordan and Egypt and Qatar. , but beleive they ahve the ability to do better than a direct strike on a refugee camp, even if hamas has c & C structure underneath it

My post should have said “not retaliating.” Not “now.” That was a typo. That said, define “do better.’ With specifics. And methods. how do you bomb a tunnel under a building without dropping a bunker or tunnel busting bomb near the building?

Here's my issue. Why the F are news organizations still taking what Hamas says and reporting it? They have proven to be cold blooded killers yet the media continues to print what they say. The media ran with the "Israel bombed a hospital" and hell, the NYT's used a photo of a bombed building(not the hospital of course) to make Israel look awful. Total lie. And now we have posters regurgitating what Hamas is saying like it's true.

Chile and Colombia withdraw ambassadors. Bolivia has suspended diplomatic relations. One can argue about the fairness of the world’s reaction, but it does not make it go away or inconsequential. And it will have impact on the US and support for Ukraine.

In all honesty I do not know if the sign is real or not although I have little doubt that the numbers are accurate and that was the point of the post. I can say that the linked article below regarding the Kibbutz is absolutely accurate.
Ruins and memories of a paradise lost in an Israeli village where attackers killed, kidnapped dozens
KIBBUTZ NIR OZ, Israel (AP) — Nearly two weeks after Hamas militants left his village scorched and shattered, Shachar Butler returned to bury a friend who was slain. But it was the town itself, a quarter of its residents dead or missing, that he eulogized.

“It was the happiest place alive. It was a green place, with animals and birds and kids running around,” Butler said Thursday, standing in a landscape of ransacked homes and bullet-riddled cars, the heat thick with the odor of death.

“They burned the houses while the people were inside,” said Butler, a father of three who spent hours trading gunfire with militants on Oct. 7. “The people who came out are the people who got kidnapped, killed, executed, slaughtered. ... It’s unimaginable. It’s just unimaginable.”
