So it appears to be undisputedly israeli, though accidental. It shouldn't matter, but I wonder if the loss of so many Christians will humanize the cost of the conflict. Doesn't appear to be happening. The story and heavy loss of innocent life seems to have been largely ignored, despite the lack of factual dispute as to what happened.

It means that Palestinians want the same land that Israel now controls, which has been the fight since forevah. That isn't necessarily supporting Hamas "one way or another."

If the protestors just really like rhyming and want to communicate the same message, they could go out and chant:

“I don’t understand why folks get pissed, when I chant that Israel should not exist!”

(Because that’s exactly what “from the river to the sea” means.)

I don't think the context in which ordinary folk acting out in protest are necessarily using the phrase literally even if some individuals might. Don't dismiss that some might, but generally, no.

Then they should be smart enough to figure out something different to chant. It’s not tough to figure out what that chant means - look at a map and see where said river and sea are, and what lies between them.

They are, at best, useful idiots if they’re having to try to explain after the fact “when I said that the entire geographic boundaries of Israel should be Palestinian, I didn’t actually mean that.”

And I’m relatively confident we wouldn’t extend the same excuse making to anyone else out chanting for the elimination of a country or people.

This is my issue with the “free Palestine” propaganda. Most Americans that just jumped on the bandwagon are wanting Palestine free from Israel. Palestine needs to be freed from Hamas, but that’s not what all these rally’s and demonstrations are advocating. I’m personally not a 100% believer in the “silence is compliance” rhetoric, sometimes when you don’t know what you’re talking about it’s best to STFU and sit it out.

One has it ask the question: what does support for the Palestinians mean? First, yot have to define the “occupation?” Clearly is it not limited to the lands the UN said were Israel, because the Arab nations and Palestinians attacked Israel in 1948 the day after Israel was declared independent? It is not limited or the lands in Judea, Samaria, Golan and Gaza that were behind the armistice likes at the end of the 1967 war because Israel offered those back for peace in 1967 and the Arabs rejected that offer? And it isn’t a nation comprised of portions of Judea and Samaria and inside Israel, subject to swaps and toads connecting land because the PA negotiated that deal with Israel at the end of the Clinton Administration then would not sign it? And instead started the intifada. Yet, somehow, building in the cities and towns called “settlements” in lands the Arabs have repeatedly refused is somehow illegal and and an impediment to peace. And it isn’t autonomy, as process by Gaza, where the Palestinians have autonomy. So much bull crap that is refuted by empirical evidence. When the “occupation” is defined, it is the slogan in the song you quote. When the Arabs slaughtered Jews in 1929, it rant about an “occupation.” When the Mufti of Jerusalem supported Hitler in WW2, it rant about an occupation. When Hamas calls for the killing of Jews everywhere, it isn’t about an occupation. Jew hatred is as old as the exodus from Egypt when Amalek attacked the Jews. “From the River to the Sea” was what the Nebuchadnezzar and later the Romans accomplished. Jews say every Passover “in whey generation” that they rise up to kill us. No different now. It’s just that those who would slaughter us are upset we can fight back instead of being marched off in cattle cars. So, let folks exercise their First Amendment rights to call for genocide. Let them call us every name in the book.

Uh huh. Please describe the means by which Arabs — sorry, “Palestinians” — gain control of that land. Like fair buy, fair sale?
