Probably not, I agree. That was more or less my prediction.

It was a mistake for Biden not to wait another day and rest up after returning to the US before giving that speech. Additional energy would have helped the messaging, and with the situation in the House it's not like the plan absolutely had to be given to Congress immediately.

The money going out to the Ukraine and now Israel is not in the budget. It is money added after the budget is drawn up. It's why a vote is needed to approve it. It is added debt placed on Americans.

Ah. Apples and oranges. Humanitarian funding vs defense. I didn’t pick up on that being your reference.

What's obvious, is that the POTUS will be bitched about by his adversaries regardless of what he does. Don't play coy--y'all took bitching about the POTUS to historic, biblical, epic proportions under Trump.

    Just having some fun here.

But thank you just the same. Hope you have a good day too, and that it's as beautiful wherever you are as it is where I am. These kinds of days are few and far between.

I tend to agree. It wasn’t the words he said — wholly agreed with those — it was the way he said them. We know the President is an old man; that’s a biological assessment, not a political one. Old men get tired more easily and need more time to recover. The President came across tired and pained to me. I know that all presidents read from teleprompters, but the trick is to not look like you’re reading from a teleprompter. If I were to compare the President’s address to, say, President Kennedy’s during the Cuban Missile Crisis, I would say this one did not grip me as much. I think President Biden would have benefitted from another day of rest and some more rehearsal.

Interesting perspective. He’s never going to rip off an Obama style speech so Im not sure there would be much benefit in that. His best option is laying out his vision and hoping the media and mouthpieces run with it. Been a mediocre at best communication plan in place since he was elected.
