I'm not talking about trying to go DIY and compete with the middle men who control those rackets with virtual monopolies. We have the means to distribute beer, and music, almost anything really. I'm just saying take them out of the hands of the vultures and put the workers in charge of them. You know, socialism
Eh. I think there's a reason you don't really see that, even when regulations allow it. Specialization is good in an economy and good for trade. You're always gonna get the vultures cause some CEO has to get paid somewhere for sitting on his ass!
The people that make the stuff sell their labor to corporations, but maybe you are implying they are slaves of some sort by "belonging to them," so welcome to the fold, comrade.
You dont see it because car dealers and people like that can buy politicians and entrench their business model. In American you get rich, then you use your money to make it illegal not to buy your product, that's how our system works! Like Florida just made it illegal for car companies to directly sell their product. There was probably a time when dealerships needed to exist, but you cant convince me that they need to exist in 2024. Like that doesnt have anything to do with socialism or capitalism, that's simply just corruption. Texas I believe necessitates you go through a distributor with alcohol sales, another example of rigging the game. Because thats the way its always been, people get used to the idea that that's just how things work.
Love his music. Hate his politics. Looking forward to seeing him and Crazy Horse at NOLA Jazzfest in a few weeks.
Weird I just went on Spotify and still no Neil Young songs. Other people singing his songs but not him.
Only time I saw him was in Houston which I guess is the south. With Dino jr + Blind Melon. No crazy horse, Booker T & MGs backed him
