The number of Republicans spreading the "election was stolen" lies and, those that just look the other way as it happens, all play a part. The shooter was probably mentally ill, but your team is pushing these people into doing these things with your party's continued lying.

 

First of all, I'm not sure 'nuanced' is the right word. The differences are little more clear cut that that.

Deranged dude literally killed a neighbor who belonged to a political party he doesn’t like, juiced up by nonsense he probably read online, heard on talk radio, or possibly even at a church. But yeah, let’s be sure not to “demonize” the right wing hate mongers who feed into what put him there.

This “both sides are guilty” crap at this stage carries about as much weight as “thoughts and prayers” after a mass shooting. It’s cringe. It’s not even virtue signaling, at this point it seems more like a coping mechanism only explainable by psychiatrists.

It’s only one kind of violence tracked. There is lots of violence not associated with politics so your map doesn’t tell the full story.
