it’s not that the offense was BAD… it’s that the playcalling was bad. What I mean is- for whatever reason (married to analytics, stubbornness, lack of feel) they don’t know WHEN to call what, when to use tempo, whole parts of the field and entire players disappear… anyone who watches football can see there’s zero flow or rhythm to the offense. It’s disorganized. Occasionally there’s a burst of output but no consistency: I get that some of that is missed assignments, blocks etc but in a year they needed to score 45 to win or be in a game… they seemed like they were cool scoring 30. This offense looked best when it had tempo and my guess is/ players stopped thinking and started playing. The program would be so much better off getting an OC who utilized those elements of spreading it out and using tempo. Recruiting would be better, weapons would be used, CBN could focus on other things (like how many dudes are on the field) etc… I think that’s what folks are saying when they clamor for an OC

Sure, but the offense was average. Almost exactly the average actually. I'm not annoyed he isn't hiring an OC but do expect improvement to show that isn't a poor decision. Another season of average and it's time for a new offensive strategy.

Another season of average = another losing record. Time for a new coach then.

It’s not that process coaches don’t work for NCAAFB, it’s that some fans are impatient and want to see immediate results. There is an unrealistic expectation of a 1-2 win improvement year over year leading to a 8-10 win season by year 2-3. Winning is hard and no team is entitled to winning. We must be patient.

process has to be from day 1, you kill it in your first year of recruiting and fill the voids with the transfer portal.
Must haves in year 1 and year 2 -- qb and skilled positions. Hit the portal of defensive and oline experience.
Be flexible with your offense and run the system that accommodates the players on the roster.
and most importantly you can't lose games because of careless coaching errors.
coaching staff is more important than head coach in year 1 and 2, you have to have studs at each coaching position.

this team has not gotten better over the past 2 seasons, we continue to make foolish mistakes, 34 kids on the field, players wearing the same numbers, horrible time management etc.

simple -- on offense get the ball to your top play makers.

In 2020, the cancelled the 3 games they were supposed to lose & "somehow" in the middle of those cancelled games, were able to play the one where they were supposed to win.

It's all about finding the right assistant coaches. A process coach can win early and build on that early success he cannot do it alone... It has to be all hands on deck in order for it to work.

We left 3 maybe 4 wins on the table... let them slip away becasue we didn't pay enough attention to details on the coaching side of things. I know that some of that is on the players to learn what they're teaching but maybe simplifying the system will end up paying more dividends later on in the season.

Our defense looks lost and confused way too many time... think about the 4th and 17 and how we looked lost on that one play. That one play cost us that game... there's one more win that we flushed down the drain becasue our back end was confused.

In the Arkansas game we could not tackle their QB in the open field and he just ran right down our throats with several defenders just looking on... and too many of them NOT trying to gang tackle their QB... that was an easy win we let slip away...

The Kentucky game we were out of position all game long and we missed too many tackles... winnable game lost.

And then the FSU game.. please every facet of that game looked great until we lost that big MO... winning 12 to zip and then we lost the crowd and the players felt it... and so did FSU. Only they felt that momentum shift on their side.. suddenly we could kick field goals and we punted like crap and the tackling feel apart. Again open field tackling did us in. One m ore close game that we should have won.

We had injuries to our O-line, we had to shift players out of their normal positions all year long. Considering just how much bad luck happened to that O-line room over all... with lack of depth, our O-line did all it could do and I think the coaches did fine considering the circumstances. I don't blame them for their overall play as much as most people here do. All the good coaching in the world could not fix lack of experience and depth.

I would love for Napier to land assistant coaches that pay attention to details... and ones that focus on the fundamentals of football in general... simplify the game on the back end.

Napier cannot do it alone and He knows what he expected to do. We just have to stop listening to the outside BS, and look more closely at what he's building. 4 freshman players that he recruited are getting national recognition, so he knows how to recruit and evaluate talent.

I think if we can hang on to the best of our class we will win more games in that crazy hard 2024 season than most people think we will.

I think 7 wins or more will keep coach employed, anything less may be tough for Gator Nation to accept, of course circumstances will play into it but another losing season will be tough on Nape.

Game 1 is lining up to be a huge contest, for UF and Miami.

Looking around at all the players hitting the portal from successful teams it seems, for the foreseeable future and until things settle down, the new 'process' is going to be "rebuilding" your team every single year.

This is terra incognita for just about everyone involved, and while some players are going to learn a lot about what the portal can do for them they are all going to learn much about what the portal can do to them.

No doubt, but I didn't read anything he wrote that wasn't true.

He even used numbers to make his point about the lack of utilization of Etienne.

Almost no one was expecting 8-10 wins this year and I don't know anyone expecting that next year. Patience dries up quickly when the record goes backwards.
