The NCGOP must feel it is too late in the game to name a replacement candidate, and looks like they will continue to run with Robinson. Their statement was basically that Robinson is denying the allegations, therefore we will believe him and this is an attack from the left because they don't know how to handle immigration. Meanwhile, every democrat on the ballot in this state is feasting and every republican trying to distance themselves. You will see a bunch of backpedaling from local, state and national endorsements over the next few days.
Do you think Bootyjudge ever consumed gay porn 20 years ago? Dems would have little to no problem with that. The corrupt Republican establishment is going after Robinson. They'd rather have a Democrat governor than a Republicsn populist
Robinson may not even be the worst candidate in NC from the GOP. Morrow on the right below, who has never held a public office, is running to lead statewide education has homeschooled her kids, hates public schools, and has a long list of bizarre comments. Republican candidate in NC superintendent race says the '+' in LGBTQ+ includes pedophilia (cbs17.com) NC Superintendent race: Morrow defends comments on using military to keep Trump in office (wral.com) This Jan. 6 participant wants to lead North Carolina schools (usatoday.com) NC schools chief candidate Morrow cannot outrun unhinged Twitter posts (fayobserver.com) Her opponent is Mo Green on the left who was executive director of the Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, served as superintendent of Guilford County Schools, general counsel and deputy superintendent for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and worked as a private practice lawyer. Its a lot closer than you would think. WRAL News Poll: Race for state schools superintendent remains a virtual tie
Since Robinson's wife is under investigation for submitting false reimbursement requests to the state, I believe there's more coming. It's a rope-a-dope play (I hope); drop scandalous stuff, see who supports him (the NCGOP just did), then really slide the knife in.
Pubs' continued support for Robinson might be about the idea that only Christians can serve at the highest levels of government.
I think it’s a tie between Robinson and trump. Herschel is crazy and needs help he deserves a little compassion, a very little compassion.
It's a shame that Josh Stein's name isn't even in the conversation. He's a very impressive candidate.
Which conversation? He looks set to win by landslide in a purple state. He was up by nearly 10 points in the polls prior to the Robinson bombshell.
Jeff Jackson running against Dan Bishop for Attorney general is an impressive candidate as well. All the hate and circus shows being run by the GOP is overshadowing what high quality candidates the Democrats have put up in North Carolina. Jackson is a congressman in the recently gerrymandered 14th district. Before Congress, Jackson was a state senator and was a prosecutor in Gaston County. He also served in Afghanistan with Army Special Operations and is a major in the Army National Guard. His opponent has been a congressman and big law firm sleaze.
