Nemby balled out last night. Playing alongside Halliburton is holding back his individual potential. He must be the primary ball handler to maximize his skillset. They won’t get 20 points from him as an SG. I feel for him, because I understand how it messes up a natural PG’s game to be asked to play SG. Ok back to the game… that was a tough loss for Indy. They had it the whole game and just couldn’t hold on. Horford’s shooting was big in this game.
Hordford was huge. Yes, he might need to be traded to maximize his potential at PG, because it's Haliburton's team.
Yeah. He should get better with experience, but he had some poor plays near the end. That said, I thought Nembhard was fouled on the back on the play where Brown blocked his layup (before the block). With more experience, he'll learn to do things like slow up to make that contact more egregious/obvious before flipping the ball up for the layup attempt. That said Part 2, I'm leaning toward pulling for the Celtics so that Horford will finally get a ring. This is the least "partisan" I think I've ever been as I don't particularly like or dislike any of the last 4 teams.
How do you not go after KAT when he had 5 fouls for more than half the 4th? Dame with Edward's and gobert who had 4 each? Dallas had minny in heavy foul trouble and didn't force them to defend at all. Also, luka wouldn't shoot in the 4th and kyie played awful. At least luka was distributing the ball to open looks but dallas couldn't hit anything.
Personal preference - for example - it will never be as good (for me) as it was when MJ was playing. When people jump, they move vertically. This person moved through air horizontally. That's not human.
There's a difference between saying it won't be as good for you personally and saying it's not good at all. The MJ era was great, but we can't dock the entire league because it's subjectively not better than the period of time in which the GOAT played. If the Kobe/Shaq/Wade/Lebron/Curry eras didn't excite you, I have to question whether basketball is really a sport you enjoy to watch. I can enjoy watching high school, college, and pro basketball. Even my 6 and 8 year old son's games are entertaining to me.
I've been watching/enjoying the NBA since since I started playing basketball myself as a 7th grader (for the school team) in 1970. The only time I thought it got kind of tedious was in the defensive era represented by Pat Riley's Heat versus Jeff Van Gundy's Knicks. (I think our very own Jason Williams was instrumental in bringing back some flair to the NBA and the renewed emphasis on passing and movement that makes the game so enjoyable IMHO.) I've had a pretty much continuous string of favorite NBA players starting with Wilt and Walt Frazier and continuing on to Nate Archibald (only player to ever lead the league in both scoring and assists - although it was very difficult to find footage of him playing at the time), David Thompson, Bob McAdoo, Larry Bird, Stockton/Malone, Jason Williams and finally my own personal pick for the GOAT, Lebron (finally replacing Wilt at the top of my list). The game and the players continue to evolve and it's somewhat incredible to see the level of shooting and passing in the league at this point. I too am somewhat puzzled by basketball fans who don't watch the best players in the world (and in history IMO). But I'm definitely a believer in: To each his own.
Hope Al gets his ring. Dallas has been playing great D the last quarter of the season. Also may have best guards in the NBA. Both are clutch players
