I’m pretty happy with the new recruits. I do wish we could have kept at least some of the ones we had. But I sure wish you Negative Nellies would find another team… quick. BTW, how is your life going? I can only imagine. But maybe this is your tipping point.
Thanks @fox. You're EXACTLY right. I didn't abandon my job, nor did @g8orbill nor @MCB51. I was instructed to allow all this wonderful "discussion." Why? I wasn't consulted or told directly but TPTB sure are happy with all the increased "traffic" and clicks.
LMFAO! And here I thought these forums were for posters to add some good quality content... to these opinion boards. You add nothing but tripe to this forum. This below is how you did...
I think the optics of all the decommits looks bad but the class is still solid. Since we didn’t sign a lot Billy needs to hit the portal as better prospects go in at key needed positions
Our blue chip ratio last year was as high as it ever has been with the exception of the 2010 class, this class we just signed twice as many consensus 5 star recruits in this one class than our last coach did in his entire time here, and we had a 3rd but lost him at the end due to what he said on IG " he was locked in bit Texas came with a crazy amount of money" We also just got the best QB we've has since Tebow commitment. There are things to complain about but complaining that we lost a 5 star and only ended up with 2 five stars even though we've had 3 losing seasons (2 under BN) is not one of them. If anything the level of talent he is signing despite the record(and coaching vacancies/changes) is pretty damn impressive.
I prefer less moderation. Words on a forum dont bother me. Why they bother some people is beyond my understanding.
Our composite rating by 247 sports is better than Miami and FSU’s despite the fact that we had a losing season. We only signed 18 players. That’s a result of fielding one of, if not THE youngest team in the country last season. Got a lot of talented players coming back. Imagine the negative recruiting teams like Auburn, Texas A&M, etc were throwing our way while stealing a couple of our recruits at the last minute. Not to mention there was most likely some bags of money being passed along. And of course there was the ill timed departure of Bateman, but CBN and his staff hung in there and our class still looks darn good at the end. CBN did an outstanding job signing this class. Instead of bitching and moaning about a handful of teenagers that bailed on us last minute we should be celebrating this class and welcoming them to Gator Nation. Two five * guys including the best QB recruit since Tim Tebow coming in. How can any Gator not be excited about that?
Words don't bother people. Spamming the board with multiple threads on the same subject while not offering any real perspective is the problem. There are a couple of members who have done this and then hardly if ever returned for actual debate. Nearly every other board is loaded with that content. People come here for a break from that. I don't want an echo chamber of positive fluff either. You do you though
I’m sorry, but I think the OP has a point. All season long, whenever someone challenged Napier’s questionable decisions, the scoffing rejoinder was “Do you see the class he’s about to sign? It’s all coming together. He just needs talent.” Well, that class seems to be regressing toward the mean of a sub-top-10, and CBS just labeled Florida as the top loser of Early Signing Period. National Signing Day 2023: Winners and losers of early signing period, college football recruiting rankings I fail to see how that’s something we should just ignore. In my opinion, there’s a direct correlation between Napier’s below-average on-field coaching and recruits jumping to other programs at the 11th hour. In fact, I would have been really shocked if he kept a top-5 class with a second consecutive losing season and staring down the barrel of a third.
