    Interesting body language -

The facial hair is longer, hand wringing, dark set eyes, scatching the head, lines on the forehead.
Clearly under pressure and who wouldn't be.

I thought the reporters were not nearly as brutual as I expected. He certainly did not break down, go ballistic or point fingers,
as mentioned, kept the usual script. He didn't act like he was "fired".

I kinda hate to watch this, I think in many fields of endeavor I would like him. I do like him, but his end product has just been awful.

Correct me if I am wrong, but it appears he may be coaching the Gators on Saturday? Just a guess but I'm kinda with Marine now,
may not be any decisions until the break and if he wins Saturday what then? It would seem a loss on the road to the
lowest ranked SEC team would almost force an announcement of an interim, especially if the current level of play continues.

Maybe a win Saturday "Or Else" fast ball was thrown his way?

I'm curious if the 26 Million is influencing UF??

Anyway, I will be monitoring the GC board if anything happens as usual.

    Go Gators.

Question posed over the weekend: Does keeping him cost UF more money than paying the buyout?

No one is going to be surprised prolly least of all, the players.

Any naive ones in the locker room will be clued in by the ones who... arent blindly trusting the coach. They have to be prepared for next move.

    Resumes on the ready...

Frankly, the only ones who might be surprised are Billy and Striklyn. I can actually picture them smug in their insulated ignorance, not worried in the slightest over the meaningless rumblings of us "basement dwellers", and losers in the stands, whom they surely figure for what they've played us for--

    SUCKERS.

The saddest thing of all will be that NOTHING will change... same practice... same plays with no tweaks, and same situational game play.

If we lose in Starkville Saturday to a truly awful Miss St team, this team is done. we are not SEC caliber on both lines. That fact is clear. IF the administration is too weak to make a decision, then the big money guys need to step up and do something. This question is for older Gators. Pre 1990 do you remember a gator this this bad? Maybe the 0-10-1 season qualifies.

They are loafing around on the field and that’s on coaching.

I think they all already know that Napier will NOT be their coach, that's not my argument. What I am saying is that the Transfer Portal will interfere with the end of the year coaching. If we want to ensure we get whomever we need, that's the time to get it done... in December.

I know that leaves either a transitional coach coaching the last few games of our schedule, and having him deal with recruits? NOT GOOD AT ALL. Or keep Napier to the end... for what? He will not be the coach that the recruits will want to see.

We could hire Meyer to be the transition coach... but many people here would NOT like that. But waiting to the end of the year is a bad idea, because OTHER SCHOOLS WILL BE LOOKING FOR NEW HEAD COACHES TOO.

The longer we wait the more likley some other school gets into a bidding war for that best caoch vailable. NOT GOOD...

Shane says the next coach will be chosen by the boosters not by Scott Stricklin.

I know it’s minor but They asked about the travel roster and he said something like we don’t have to bring all 74 allowed but probably will, why wouldn’t you bring as many as you can or even hint you might not?

Unless it is not in your best interest to do it today.

Explain how it benefits us to fire Napier now, and not a month from now? I'm curious as to what your answer will be.

We can still discreetly pursue his replacement in the meantime. Many posters yap about hiring Kiffin. Guess what? Kiffin is under contract at Ole Miss. Most likely, any other candidate we pursue will also be under contract.

There are all sorts of legal/public relations issues to deal with in such a situation. Handle those issues poorly and we create legal problems and major public relations issues, and end up looking bad. That is not what we want to do.

Whoever we hire won't strike a deal with us for a while, and most certainly won't start working any time soon.

We can live with Billy in the meantime. He is going to be fired, and everyone knows it. What's the rush?

That begs the question. If Scott isn’t making the hire, then why is he still the athletic director?
