The only reason it hasn't been announced would be legal language. If it drags on an he ends up winning couple surprise games it looks worse on UF
Any viable replacement won't be available until after the season anyway as he is currently coaching his current team. That said, the back channels may be lit up right now.
The point would be to save any chance we have of keeping the players we want for next year. It's that simple... The sooner we hire the next guy, the more the players can feel one way or another, but they will not be confused or unwilling to gamble on the next guy if they do not know who that coach will be. The better players need to know ASAP..
I'm at a loss for words. Softballs from the media, absolutely no holding his feet to the fire. Also, notice he never says win. Do better, fix it, develop, improve, etc. Never once about winning, the entire reason he has a job.
Discreetly? Him being fired at some point this season is probably the worst kept secret in college football.
Unless he immediately brings in five stud offensive linemen and three stud defensive linemen, we aren't going to win 3 more games. That's another losing season, which is all the reason we need to fire him without looking bad.
I think it’s both. We have some good players but we don’t have the los guys. Not enough of them anyway.
I think the coaching is so bad, especially on the defensive side, that we just don't know... So, I will not blame the players too.
Discreetly pursue his replacement-DUH! Did you read the part where I posted that he was gone/dead man walking and he knows it?
Any AD worth their salt has a list of candidates stashed in his hip pocket as you never know when you may need to start making calls. That said, our pickle is do we want SS choosing our next coach?
