I would love it too. I bet some other high profile school scoops him up soon. Bieniemy too good to just sit.
I am confused... Rob Sale - Assistant Coach / Offensive Coordinator - Staff Directory - Florida Gators Is he not our Offensive Coordinator?
You’d think he has a big hand in it. Or maybe those are just words in front of his name. Folks think he has nothing to do with our offense it seems.
Here it is, straight from the horses mouth: Napier says Russ Callaway will have more responsibility in the play-calling: "Russ is a heckuva young coach...Has the leadership components, has the respect of the players. So Russ is a guy that we're certainly excited about, and he'll definitely in the future have more responsibility." This was predicted by some.
I heard the pc. Did you notice, like I did, that during the pc CBN was really flat. Like he just woke up. Until the end when he was talking about the players from the portal it was like the first half of a cup of coffee kicked in.
Is Russ overly enamored with passes at or behind the line of scrimmage? Does he like running plays in long yardage situations? Does he like to throw in a slow-developing gadget play that his line can’t block for at a crucial juncture? Does the think a three point lead is plenty? If Russ answered yes to all those questions he’s gonna fit right in.
Here's an article with those comments. I duuno......sounds like he's reluctant to change anything. Guess we'll find out this fall. https://247sports.com/college/flori...callaway-billy-napier-gators-staff-226868597/ Asked if he would continue calling plays, the third-year coach didn't specify but did say that the team's scheme would stay the same as would the core group of coaches currently tasked with helping to run it: offensive line coaches Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton, tight ends coach Russ Callaway, running backs coach Jabbar Juluke, and wide receivers coach Billy Gonzalez.
"I think it’s been a heckuva two years in terms of all the new things that come with the job," he said of potentially alleviating the responsibilities on his plate. "So offensively, I think that we will, we may have different titles and responsibilities within that group of people... We’ve shuffled the deck chairs a little bit in terms of those things, but ultimately we’ll keep the same system and keep moving forward in that regard.” The process is still being evaluated though..
It seems the process is nothing more than a never-ending state of flux. The journey continues indefinitely but there is no destination. Changes, evaluation, changes, evaluation, rinse, repeat. Nothing more than coachspeak to keep the masses at bay.
It does not sound as if anything will change, and BN will still do the playcalling. The problem, largely, has been execution on both sides of the ball! Plain and simply, we have lost the game in the trenches. This year, new OL and we shall see! I fear there are too many new people and the Gators are still in a rebuild. Many pieces of the PUZZLE have to come together. In other words, a miracle! "I believe in miracles! Where you from?" Will the offense be improved without Pearsall? Uh, ...
