That would have been ironic: UF's offense being called by another guy Clemson didn't want calling plays.
Sticking to my prediction CBN will be calling the plays in 2024. "yes I know this is not exactly news" - but I think that will happen. I got no skin in that deal, I just want a good offense. Whats good? I'm thinking 33 - 34 a game and 400 ypg.
At first, I agreed with you on your post. Then I decided to take a look at the 2023 NCAA DIV 1 Football Team Stats. I had a small surprise. About 50 teams had 400 or more yards of offense The Gators came in around 47th in that stat. Also, the Gators averaged 28.4 per game. Again they were ranked about 50th. The 33 - 34 points per game may not sound like much of an improvement. However, it could have flipped a lost or two in the past season to the win column. Any improvement will be appreciated. To be honest, the Gator Offense was not the Achilles Heal this season. The Achilles heal was the Gator Defense. Their 2023 season ranking was about 78th. Just a marginal improvement in that defense would of flipped a lost or two into the win column. Now that we had two months to digest the 2023 season, perhaps too many of us put did too much carping about not having an Offensive Coordinator and and a Special Teams coach. To be totally honest, a marginal improvement in both the offense and defense could of flipped 4 loses into 4 wins. The 5 and 7 could of flipped to 9 and 3. The past recruiting season and the incoming portal talent appears to bring improvements to the team. Also, the same can be said about the coaching staff changes. In hind sight, maybe it is safe to say that, Billy Napier is getting the team closer to getting the Gators into a winning team.
I like your post North and will be rooting for your comments to happen on the field in terms of that 9 - 3 possability! Kinda shocked 400ypg was so low. Thanks for the education.
I would argue it was pretty well timed. Perfect spot on the field, a chance to put a nail in them. IF it had worked it's genius, which is always the case with trick plays
