Most critical social justice holy days and holy months are of that nature. You act like your penance for the day or the month is making a difference to dismantle the systems of oppression, and then you go back to your miserable little subconciously oppressive life for the rest of the year. And then you do penance again the next year. All the while you pat yourself on the back like you are really accomplishing something. And then you laugh at the vanity of the conservatives who do not do this exercise to the level of rigor that you have attained to.

 

Oh, you wanted examples of the blatant racism of the racist you are happy to support? There are so many......

I always start with this one, because it shows how obvious his racism was even before all his campaign rhetoric racism.

We conducted an exhaustive search of newspaper and television transcripts on LexisNexis, looking for reports from September 2001 through December 2001 that made any mention of Muslims in New Jersey celebrating the 9/11 attacks. ....we found no evidence to back up Trump’s description of events on American soil.

Such a silly racist lie. Now what do you call this obviously false statement intended to denigrate an entire religion, if not racist?

(we could go on and on and on, of course. But you know that. You apparently support the racist anyways. Congrats, or something.)

I think that's the point: UF is forbidden to use state funding for these programs. Once the money is in UF's hands, the money is state money, isn't it? They would have to allow a private organization to raise funds for the program, and allow that organization to operate on campus to administer the program.

 

I would think since the UF Foundation is a 501(c)(3), it could fund it.

 

Thanks for taking the time to answer. I agree that the statement wasn't true - he's a politician; so, I call it campaigning and can see your point. Obviously, there were places (in the Middle East) where there were many people cheering about 9/11 - just not in Jersey. I don't see it as racist as being Muslim is a choice - many races are Muslim.

 

He wasn't a politician in 2001. Just a racist liar.

Telling a lie to denigrate an entire religion could certainly be considered racism - if those people don't look like the majority and are being labeled an Other.


You jump through hoops to justify this flagrantly and blatantly racist lie.

That said - it is acceptable for him to tell racist lies because he was.....campaigning for public office? Because that made him a "politician?"


You complained that you were a victim of the mean people saying mean things (calling you a racist, which they weren't), but you are the one voluntarily supporting someone who clearly makes deliberate and repeated racist statements.

What does that say about you, that you support an obvious racist? You can be the one to decide. But calling your racist a "politician" doesn't change these obvious facts any more than a poster on message having his timeline off does. Maybe it's time for you to stop playing victim and look inward. Why are you so comfortable voting for and defending an obvious racist?

 

And we've only been talking about ONE of the many dozens of public racist comments he's made.

His whole campaign was centered around the racist lie that Mexicans are coming to get us. Lies that they are rapists and excessively criminal, relative to US citizens. It's classic Otherism - give the masses a group to hate. Even if it's racist and requires lies. "They're not like you and me."

Why should a politician favoring immigration reform and border security need to tell racist lies that falsely disparage an entire race or nationality? And why are you comfortable with that? Does that not say something about the values and character of a person willing to vote for someone who tells racist lies?

 

In the worst case scenario, we could probably still muster 5-7 if Bear Bryant was our HBC. Aww, that's right, Bryant broke the barrier despite state politics and fanbase that were leaning heavily against him.

Nutshell.. The players don't give a damn about DeSantis.
