I went to Florida in 1994 because it has the third ranked journalism major in my country (behind Mizzou and Northwestern). Was insanely competitive. They don’t even rank journalism schools now.
I met a girl majoring in journalism when I was there (late 70s). She told me a little about the program and I was quite impressed that she had to attend late-night City Council meetings and similar events, write an article covering it, fact-check, edit it, and turn it in before the morning light. All-nighters were not unusual. And that's what professional journalism is. It's not internet-wankerism or AI-spewage. Don't underestimate what Chris Harry does.
Nobody gives a damn about ranger's desire for proper grammar and prose style points. He's an ass for lecturing long time Gator posters. You guys should just go read the Times. And if you didn't notice, the original article by Chris Harry WAS posted at 1:30 in the morning. We're lucky to have him post his articles here so I prefer you perfect posters not run him off.
