CH, I agree that inbounds play was a dagger. So too were the missed free throws and the careless turnovers. UK also had those 3 pointers we had to overcome.
A porous defense, more than 10 missed FTs, outscored 20-4 on points off turnovers - and we only lose by 6 at Rupp. Lots to learn from this loss.
After the first 3 games, we've been pretty good at guarding the 3. Not yesterday. In the 2nd half, we defended it a little better but by that time, the UK shooters were zeroed in and couldn't miss.
Against Tennessee, IF we pay attention to Zeigler finding the open man, we'll win. But he's amazing at finding the guy. I'm undecided on whether you put Martin on Zeigler or on the Vols' best shooter.
that's part of it. If a team's shooters are lengthy and can't miss, it's tough to defend - especially if there's a lot of ball movement requiring defensive adjustments. A lesser team misses a lot of those shots and our defense looks less porous, but they were accurate as hell yesterday.
I sure would love the chance to pay them back at home - but looks like with this one-sided schedule we'll have to wait until next year
