I don't buy this at all. Just ends up taking the place of better eating and exercise habits. Let's be honest here. This is the USA and this will absolutely be abused both by users and manufacturers. Worst-case scenarios? Sure. But to just market it like Viagra for weight loss is insanely irresponsible, especially when you look at how vapid the population already is thanks to social media. Just sounds dystopian. "Don't forget to take your weight loss, anxiety, etc. pills before you leave home!"

Thanks to vaccines and modern medicine. Yep. With a better diet it would even be better.

I have first hand experience with this. I started Tirzepatide late in 2023 and have been on it since. Lost 80 pounds and now I don't snore, my BP went from dangerously high to now averaging 125/83. My experience is my appetite is for sure way less than it was before I started this drug. One side affect is I don't love alcohol as much. I am paying out of pocket about $500 a month but my wife(also on Tirzepatide) and I saved on average about $300 a month on groceries and we only now eat out once a month where in the past we were eating out 4-6 times a month so the cost isn't that bad plus the added health benefits have been great for us.

It could be argued that medications are the reason Americans are out-lived by every other developed country.

Americans have been eating heavily processed foods for many decades, at least since the end of WWII.

With as many Americans who’ve lost their heads, especially since 2020, you’ve think BMI would be down.

Again, it’s useful as a tool among many. As an aside, there is no way that I would follow a keto diet. It is incredibly bad for you in the long run.

There is probably more dogma and dissension, in the fitness and nutrition space, than exists in organized religion,

Must is NOT going to be telling R.F. Kennedy Jr. how to run his agency. So, that's the part that matters, or more to the point... THAT DOES NOT MATTER.

The confidence interval included 1.0 and as Dr. Makary put it…”In this study, the confidence interval was so wide, you could drive a Mack truck through it.”

It really is an interesting read. The first chapter on peanut allergies was also excellent.

And processed foods. Look up Chicken Bleaching and why we allow it here and it's banned in Europe.

Huh? A p-value of 1.0? You realize that is the maximum p-value and that statistical significance is based on a low p-value (closer to zero), right? A p-value of 1.0 would mean that there is basically zero chance that the null hypothesis (in most studies- a lack of effect) isn't true.

I came to say this. Hopefully Musk steps in and negotiates for these drugs to cost less and then put them on the formulary for Medicare and Medicaid.

It costs far more to treat people who are obese for medical treatments for their diabetes, heart and knee/hip replacements than it is to pay for drugs that will ameliorate obesity, thus substantially decreasing the monies used to treat these obesity-related diseases.

Sorry. Misstated. It was a confidence interval that was wide and contained 1.0. I will correct it…

The confidence interval "contained 1.0" means nothing. What is 1.0?

Wrong again. Viagra was never developed nor used as an anti-migraine medication. In fact, Viagra can actually trigger migraines in certain people.

Viagra was originally developed as an antihypertensive. Turns out it is better at treating ED than as a blood pressure med.
