    I never said always.

That said you bring up a topic I just read on yesterday in Marty Makary’s new book. HRT. It is unacceptable that the medical community can’t figure out HRT before menopause is a safe/cheap and effective way to benefit women. But a study with no significant difference led the medical community astray.

Our head of marketing dropped 50lbs, looks good, and seems pretty happy. Just has been eating an appropriate amount of food, moving a bit, and not eating crap. Says it is much easier with whichever one she is on. She hasnt tried a diet of cocaine and mcds like RFK does so nothing to compare to.

Well, you can pay a little for preventative care or you can pay a lot for their emergency care. Up to you. Right-wingers are generally short term focused.

Yeah, but do you honestly think some pill is the answer? It's funny, these are anti-diabetes medicines and you can tell the Pharma companies are restricted in what they say, but you can also tell they're just chomping at the bit to call them "weight loss" pills. Remember, Viagra was originally a migraine medicine. . . the "other" part (i.e. the one they market now) was a side effect.

It's expensive, so Big Insurance doesn't want to pay for it. Also, you have it backward. Big Pharma would LOVE nothing more than to market this as the Viagra of weight loss, but they appear to be restricted from doing so. . . For now. Give the lobbyists time.

This is fine and this is what the drug was intended for, but let's not mix your wife's case with who they really want to market to: The woman working on her 9th plastic surgery. They don't make money off cases like your wife, they will absolutely kill it if they can market it as a weight-loss drug. And I'm sure they're spending millions on K Street to make that happen. Given the vapidity and cynical greed of the incoming administration, I'd bet anything these will be "weight loss" pills within 4 years.

I wasn’t aware that RFK Jr. was opposed to potentially harmful pharmaceutical interventions for fictitious pathogens.

Why weren't there significant results if it is effective? Was the sample size not large enough to provide appropriate statistical power? Was there some issue with the randomization? Seems odd to refer to the empirical data showing that your hypothesis is wrong is leading people astray. Perhaps, your hypothesis is just wrong and the results showed it.

But we can't promote healthy decision making v/v natural consequences, bc that would be cold hard calloused truth, and we just can't have any of that...

No-cost strategies Americans can employ to lessen their odds of being arbitrarily categorized as obese:

Wean themselves off various medications notorious for causing weight gain.

    Avoid chronic dieting.

I’m not convinced that we were markedly more active than school kids are today. Studies are sketchy.

Listened to an attorney on a podcast yesterday. The fact that pharmaceutical companies have had immunity with vaccines since 1986 is absurd. Drugs don't have immunity, which is why the Pharma companies spend years in clinical trials to protect themselves from lawsuits. Vaccine-controlled clinical trials last days to weeks. In 1986, children received 3 vaccines in their first year of life. Now, there are 29 injections on the CDC schedule in a child's first year of life.

    It has to be RFK.

Your child needs vaccines as they grow!

The only immunity vaccines confer is immunity from litigation.

Here’s the thing that a lot of you don’t understand with regard to this medication. Used properly it is effective but it’s not an “answer” by itself. You have to eat properly and exercise to get good results.

Plus, the things that can make weight loss difficult even with proper diet and exercise are overwhelmingly suffered by women with PCOS and other hormonal issues. It’s estimated that between 7-10% of women have PCOS in the country and is the most common cause of infertility. IVF is expensive, maybe this is one avenue to pursue.

Also, ozempic is 59/month in Germany versus 969/month in the US. I think that’s a bigger question.

“You have to eat properly and exercise to get good results.”

Makes me wonder why anyone would want to take the medication.
