ACC and two Elite QBs. Always hate the Clemson comparison. It’s an outlier not the norm.

True, but more to my point is they/we went with quality over quantity. Now I don't think that's a formula to get to the Natty today, but it's still a great start. And in our case we need more quality added to this class which I believe Napier will get though the portal in the coming months.

My post was to silence the negative-nellies here, more than anything. We did miss on some recruits... but the sky is NOT falling.

To be fair we don’t know if Napiers recruits will pan out.

But we will find out earlier if they will qualify (academically and entrance visa) than we did with Mullen's. That was a problem in Mullen's first two classes.

At least we know they’ll actually make it to campus, as almost this entire class so far are ee’s.

7 seasons - with the ACC schedule. Will be harder in the SEC.

No question, but I'm looking at that example as a way of having some hope that we can one day get back to the top.

It's not going to happen in 3 years.

Love the comp, but unfortunately Clemson has a much easier path than we do. But yes, it’ll take us awhile to recruit to the levels of Bama and UGA so we will enjoy the Clemson model for now.

Why is it an outlier? The blue print is elite QB play can mask some depth of talent issues at other positions.

That is the outlier to winning championships. I don’t think Georgia or Bama have needed elite QB to mask talent or depth issues. Elite QB play in the SEC that masks depth and talent gets you Tennessee this year, Ole Miss last year and UF the year before. It doesn’t get you trophies.

FSU won it with Jameis. Auburn won it with Cam.

    Again, outliers.

I wouldn’t call that FSU team lacking talent.

Elite QB play can turn a top 10 roster into a title.

Those Clemson teams were also pretty loaded elsewhere. Their D was stacked and very good skill guys across the board.

That’s great. Haven’t seen a lot of Elite QB play in the SEC win titles. I’ve seen a lot of game managers surrounded by elite talent and depth. Maybe UF should join the ACC.

Surely you’re not suggesting we would have anything close to a “top 10 roster” next season or even the season after that? An arguably “top 10” group of 21 incoming freshmen is a start, but that leaves ~100 other guys who have to aggregate out to “top 10” too. We’re years away from that

I know everyone like to talk about Clemson's elite QB's (yes, 2 are starting in the No fun league), but take a look at the Clemson WR's all over NFL rosters.

Jeff Scott recruiting at the WR position for Clemson during that time.
