Carruth shot it all in his garage and a storage space. For 7k!

About Time is one of the best and most underrated films I’ve seen. Good choice.

No death violence and mayhem? Nuns gone wild? Y’all watch some weird stuff :)

Except Hombre, solid pick. I think I am long over historical war movies. Just a few space force battles left

Yeah it’s crazy. He wrote all the music and everything. In the credits, you can see what must be his parents provided sandwiches.

I teach a biology class where I have my students make a short plausible sci fi film. We have no budget, but I always cite Primer. “See what you can do without money!”

did you see Dredd (2012)? Got decent RT reviews. It was Better than I expected.
    - movie didn’t do great because of stallone as Dredd in 95 and its bad ratings.

    Most underrated movie ever?

Darby O'Gill and the Little People.

    (done laughing yet?)

This movie is pure genius. I think a lot of people miss the story (and the truth behind the awesome ending) because the whole thing is so tinny on the surface. And a Disney movie.

Accept the Irish yarns spun at the local pub as gospel and have a fresh watch.

On the subject of Hell or High Water and contemporary westerns in general, you should watch the rest of Taylor Sherida’s Frontier Trilogy, Sicario and Wind River.

All of S. Craig Zahler's films:

    Bone Tomahawk
    Brawl in Cell Block 99
    Dragged Across Concrete

Immerse yourself in some ultra-violent right-wing prestige cinema. This is sort of a joke, there are no overt politics in any of these movies.

Weird, I intended to watch bone tomahawk last night. I didn’t make it. Is it worth a view or are you messing around?

No, all those movies are good. I followed the director after I saw Bone Tomahawk, because it was that good.

It’s good. Kurt Russell doesn’t over act and a likable character (sheriff). But, it has a VERY gruesome scene. Impactful as it’s in context of movie so you’re drawn in.

Kinda a spoiler there. But all his movies are artful exploitation movies. The other ones are even more violent but not silly, like Tarantino. Zahler is serous, which I like.
