I enjoyed it, although the last couple of seasons I found somewhat tiresome. The first few seasons were gold.

I really like Rachel McAdams... I don't think I've sever seen one of her movies that I didn't like.

She also has an interesting ancestry story too.

Two newer movies I rented and watched this weekend on Prime. Both pretty good if you like the genres.

    Sisu

    The Pope's Exorcist

What Kareem said. Saw this weekend

How refreshing to watch such a witty, funny, charming, and insightful movie about, well, being an adult. The premise is clever and completely relatable: Writer Beth (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) overhears her therapist husband tell his friend that he doesn’t really like the novel Beth has just completed. This causes a chain-reaction of all the characters questioning their career choices and how much honesty relationships can endure. We all know Louis-Dreyfus is a wonderful actor, but here she transcends wonderful into something much more compelling and revealing. This may be the best film of the year so far.

I've seen a lot of these, and heartily endorse #1. Lots of good stuff on here.

I need to see Battle for Algiers. In terms of political TV, just got a cheap 4 month subscription to Starz, and can't wait to watch the well- reviewed "Gaslit" with Julia Roberts playing Martha Mitchell

If you like it you should see Burn! with Marlon Brando (same director)

Just finished Seven Seconds on Netflix and it was excellent. Great writing, spot on dialogue and well cast. The story revolves around a policeman who hit and killed a black teen with his car. Many characters on both sides trying to do the right and ethical thing in a murky grayness of real life. Its The Wire meets To Kill a Mockingbird. Best I've seen in some months. 10 episodes.

last weekend while my wife was on a Mai Jong retreat in the mts, I rewatched via a double feature, Grandma's Boy + Bottle Rocket. 2 of America's finest films in IMO.

Saw Aliens Romulus last night. Offered nothing new but I enjoyed it. Its simply a diversion along the Alien franchise mythology but I always liked people in space running from the xenomorphs. Had some fresh elements to it (a bit). Wife covered her eyes a half dozen times.

There is some serious controversy in that they have a CGI appearance from the now passed actor
    Ian Holmes
    who has played
    an android
in several of the movies. A lot of the critics act like they are saving actors jobs by trashing anytime it is done. I havent really thought about it.

Seeing this tonight, I'm pretty excited. I like all the Aliens films, so I think I'll be good.

    I think
    Holm
is only in 1. Lance Hendrickson (still alive at 88) has been in a few of them, and in the Alien/Predator movies. Spoiler: The Spoiler feature doesn't work when you quote someone apparently, you can see what's hidden lol.

I saw it yesterday and agree. I did like the subtle callbacks to both the original first couple of movies and the last two.
