The Duke is well worth the rental. And Official Competition, a Spanish metacomedy with Penelope Cruz and Antonio Banderas, is hilarious

Sometimes a film’s trailer will mislead audiences into thinking it’s more mainstream. This film had a lot of gore which probably turned off some viewers. My wife walked out halfway through.

Watched 13 Lives on Amazon last night - the story of a Thai kid’s soccer team trapped in a flooded cave and the incredible efforts to attempt to rescue them and their coach. Good movie.

Saw that one recently. I didn't realize that
they anesthetized the kids & the coach to get them out. The fact they were able to rescue every one of them is incredible, not to mention the fact that the kids/coach survived so long in the cave. Then there's the crew who helped to divert so much rain water, making the whole rescue operation possible and the farmers who voluntarily flooded their crops to aid the effort.

WW1 from a German recruit's perspective. It's mostly in German, but available in English dub-over, or German with English subtitles. Finished it last night. It's worth a watch, IMO. Available on Netflix.

Finally rented & watched Vengeance. I thought it was great. Not sure why it did not get more pub/screens.

Yes, it has an emotional impact as good movies tend to do.

Great acting, wonderful dialogue, suspenseful, and a hell of a ending!

I usually do the Regal "Mystery Movie". It cost $5 and they dont tell you what it is. Plus the cool thing is they show it to you weeks ahead of the release. You just enjoy the surprise or suffer through it.

So far a few were Apple releases but most were first run mid-tier movies that could use the buzz. It's definitely a risk but it's an hour and a half on a Monday night. No biggie if it sucks.
    1. The Greatest Beer Run Ever - Apple :star::star::star: (Solid)
    2. Spirited - Apple:star::star::star::star: (I was amused, will make the holiday rotation)
    3. Missing - Sony:star::star::star::star: (Cleverly different approach to a modern mystery, story decent)
    4. Champions - Universal:star::star::star: (Wife LOVED, I thought OK)
    5. Paint - IFC Films:star: (We hated, really hated - fake story about a Happy Painter knockoff.. I thought it was going to be a biopic or something)
    6. Mafia Mamma - Bleecker Street (skipped, we didn't see)
    7. Sisu - Lionsgate/Sony:star::star::star::star: (An old and dirty John Wick like invincible character beating up Nazis who wouldnt like it?)
    8. Hypnotic -Ketchup Entertainment :star::star::star: (Entertaining and good looking but not great, we enjoyed the slight mind bender, definitely no oscars nor real purpose for it)
    9. Kahandar - Open Road Films:star::star::star: (Interesting new setting - Afghanistan - for what is simply a two hour chase movie, was solidly ok but I can see if it bored people)

The best thing I've watched in a long time is Peaky Blinders.
