Most excruciating: a tie (pardon the pun) bt the choke a doak, and the 62-24 debacle in Tempe.

 

Injury? Might it have been that Kyle was suspended due to gambling, and was replaced by Donald Douglas?

Or was that the following year?

 

Getting boatraced at 4-10 LSU in 2007 is up there in terms of shock.

 

Interesting response. We had just won the SEC. Pretty much already earned a #1 seed. I understand the game result may have been surprising, but if ever there was a time the team could mentally take off, that was it.

Yea, they just didn’t get beat badly unless it was a really good team, which is what was most shocking. I think they followed it up with a loss at Tennessee too. I’m sure there was panic then too.

Morris and some 5th stringer named Matthews were suspended in 1989.
That was the year we lost to Auburn 10-7 and our QB (Douglas) went 1-5 for 6 yards.

It was the year before where so many got hurt and we lost to Memphis, Vandy in Nashville, then got shut out by Auburn for Homecoming. 10/29/88.

 

That happened in 1989 (right after a great win on the road at LSU). Season was going great up to that point.

It wasn't an embarrassment, but reversing the result of the MSU/UF championship game in 2000 would get my vote. That is a no-brainer.

 

I remember that AU game. We were up 7-3 late in 4tg Qtr, then gave up a heart wrenching TD...then those assholes began raining bottles on our team....

Loved it when Spurrier throttled their asses the following year, and we peppered them with plastic cups--symbolic and benign, contrasted to the glass bottles.

On December 20th 1979 we lost to Florida Southern 98-75 this after losing to Mercer on the 18th 69-67 on the 18th. I remember these 2 games might be the most embarrassing loses in Gator Sports history with the Florida Southern debacle being the worst.

 

I got pretty disgusted a few times this year the way this team played.
Can't remember a collective consistent lack of effort from a Gator team as long as I have been following since 1969.
