My money is that he will be cut some slack because he used an insult to homos as an insult to Trump. Not exactly how the Dems score these things but it seems like any insult to Republicans gets insulted to 51% of a break. I guess we will see how this shakes out

    How so?

The only negative I see in Florida now is due to the population boom and subsequent cost of housing increases.
Some of that is due to more properties going VRBO.

I’m not thrilled with all the growth in my area but how is it a crap hole?

Not at all. It is your own repressed feelings that make this a negative. I fully support everyone's need to sexually express themselves. It is your conflict with who and what you are that causes so much negativity towards those you perceive as different from you, though they are in fact actually you.

This is kind of fun. Maybe I am a close Republican. I can just keep making cr@p up non-stop and completely pretend it is true. I should be a MAGA president!!

Pointing out pubs are stupid didn’t cost the election genius - inflation perception did. People aren’t generally smart or informed.

You guys are funny. Trump wins by 250,000 votes, house stays the same, Dems pick up at the state level, and the senate held chalk - all favorites won in a Pub favoring map. Some shellacking. Enjoy your 24 months as history of midterms on such a slight lead doesn’t bode well for pubs.

Wait a minute city; I thought you said inflation was transitory, now it’s only a perception in people’s minds???

You are correct about midterms though. History does show that margins are reduced or control flipped in the midterm. It’s usually a function of the party in power doing stupid shit like not fixing Obamacare or spending ridiculous amounts of money that causes an inflation run. Pubs need to get their shit together and focus on the important issues.

I used to think you were smart. Everyone is telling you the deal but you’re refusing to listen.

One can have "smarts" but "smarts" don't always equate to wisdom.

Your point is a good one. For the many turned off by the exclusive attitude of the left, they look to the other side of the aisle to find a bunch of people actively rooting for citizens with alternative views to move away and/or stop reproducing. Personally, I’m not planning on becoming a Democrat anytime soon, but I sure as heck aren’t stepping foot inside the Republican Party right now.

Inflation on products/commodities which had supply chain shortages were indeed transitory. I remember “debating” with some dude on here about the cost of lumber. I don’t recall what his argument was exactly - other than to call it hYpErInFlAtIoN and run with that narrative. Lumber went parabolic for while, but with it being supply chain shortage driven it was 100% obvious that would resolve once the post-covid supply kinks were ironed out. Go back and check the chart on lumber prices now.

Anyone going “hurr, durr, how do you like that transitory inflation” either aren’t being honest or aren’t digging deeper to understand what people were referring to with transitory inflation.

Obviously there was also structural inflation, mostly having to do with service workers getting more pay. Economists seemingly missed some of that, but also none of them would have referred to wage based inflation as transitory as wage inflation is known to be stickier (workers aren’t giving up their raises).

Mostly libbies would do these studies.
Just because you can’t find it on MSNBC doesn’t mean it isn’t true.
The polls didn’t even ask the question about your wokeness.

If you can’t see there are a large group of voters that feel like the left looks down upon them I can’t help you. It’s just ramped up since the who deplorables comment from HRC.

When reports of voting trends hammer about “uneducated” voting a certain way how do you think people feel?
It’s just sounds like code word for stupid or dumb.

It’s never a good idea to demonize groups. A theme of the left for a long time has been “citizens voting against self interest”, which is an implication that they are stupid. Of course the right does that too with inherently racist language towards minorities such as “why don’t you leave the democratic plantation?”.

Nevertheless there are specific instances where they do vote against self interest.

Generally anyone voting on the premise “Trump will lower our grocery prices” is straight up not living in reality. I saw a ton of clips of voters saying that and it’s completely wild to me given the guys stated policies are highly inflationary.

A union member voting for a Republican is also a pretty wild thing. Although “tariffs” might appeal to them so at least there is some actual policy appeal in theory. But overall it’s obvious they are being bamboozled and their unions will be crushed. The oligarchs will crush all the last vestages of labor protections that workers gained in the last 100+ years, as we’ve seen with some states already even bringing back child labor.

Online you see people claiming to be on disability and people with undocumented family who voted for Trump now worried if they’ll be ok. I tend to believe those are fake. Although I’m sure those people exist, I doubt such idiots would be asking questions online just days later.

Nice try on the spin, but still a fail. The Dems weren’t saying lumber inflation was transitory. They were saying inflation was transitory. You don’t get to cherry pick data. If you want to, here are two counters to lumber; food is still up around 25%, auto parts are still up around 20%, but most important, the composite is still up 21% since the end of 2020

Anyone who thinks only one side condescends to the other is simply blinded by their own bias. See it on this board all time, as a microcosm of the country at large. For every "it's codescending to say they're uneducated" you get a "we do the real jobs of this country"

I get the sense that more and more people (voters) truly dislike the elitist party looking down on them as in you aren't smart enough to make your own decisions, we will make them for you. After all we know best.
There was a clear distinction in the campaign between DT and KH, he spent time with the common folk, where as KH seemed to spend a great deal of time hob knobbing with celebrities, the View and News anchors who fawned over her. Many of these folk who spewed publicly how stupid people voted for DT.
I suspect what good common people want for this country does seem foolish to the other half.
