Yeah, now we know why so many relatively poor people in congress become millionaires almost over night while in congress with about a 150K annual salary.

Yep, clean bills with no poison pills or riders are impossible to get congress to vote on. There's just no financial gain in that for them. About capitalism... maybe I was a bit hasty... Lol.

Well when I was in Denver a couple weeks ago, the news called them "un-housed persons". Maybe if we call it something different the problem will go away.

Here is a microcosm of what we're discussing. I see that money won't do it, becasue of "shrinkage"... What I mean to say is mismanagement. If you read this then it gives you a better understanding of the underlying problem with housing the homeless.

    Ocala
We are not that far off. We did buy the building our practice is at which is the only debt I have left back in 2009 so I did a combo and went dirt first (stand alone office plumbed for 7 operatories on a major road in Ocala across the street from a Publix and half mile from the two major hospitals). It was retirement plan B after the practice itself. With that said…I just went the dividend route after more than buying dirt. We own three properties. Our house. Our waterfront. The building we practice out of (probably 80% plus equity right now and could pay it off tonight). Eventually will get into the rentals. Though I definitely missed a chance to leverage some money into bigger gains.

    I would guess it’s a zoning issue.

you make some sensible arguments and are clearly a bright guy, but once you go down the “ Cuba has…..” road you lose some credibility. The country’s average income is $225ish a month and if you complain about that paltry amount, you disappear. The “Free healthcare or Free Books in Cuba” is an oft repeated argument and nobody with an option otherwise wants anywhere near Cuba’s free anything.

Cuba is a poor country but it manages to provide housing and healthcare to its entire population, these are just facts. You can debate about the quality of those things, but something beats nothing in almost any case lol. Our neglect of our own population in those regards is a deliberate choice, and its ideologically driven by our devotion to free markets and libertarian style economics, these are also facts. We don't have to be Cuba or turn to communism to solve these problems, but this is the state of play.

I'm not an expert, but condos and apartments ate zoned commercial as well. I don't know if it's different types of CCG zoning or density stuff
