I don’t think Shapiro wins her PA at all. Walz had a huge favorability rating and his legislation he passed in MN as their governor was very popular for the most part. Shapiro would have also been a poor choice for the Gaza conflict due to his history and lots of lefties didn’t like how the Biden administration handled it. They were going to lose regardless of who the VPnpick was. If VP mattered at all, Vance would have sunk Trump’s campaign. JMHO of course.

It’s interesting the left finds fault with republican voters for nominating Trump but ….. fail to take responsibility for selecting Harris as their candidate. Oh wait …. Harris was not selected by dem voters but rather hand picked by the DNC elite. Talk about a swing and miss.

That said, I’m all for a Shapiro/Whitmer ticket in 2028. That would be as formidable a ticket the dems could put up IMHO.

I see your point, Gr8t. I’m just suggesting that the same logic runs in many different directions. Eg It wouldn’t matter what the dems did, if the pubs gave the middle a better choice. It also wouldn’t matter what the dems did if Trump’s mom never got pregnant or Trump’s would be assassin aimed a little to the right. It also wouldn’t have mattered what the dems did if voters acted as if the constitution were kore important than some woman’s cackle or fighting woke. All of these entities have the same logical claim to responsibility as you are giving to the Democratic Party.

except the dem party was in charge of just one of those scenarios. control that which you can to get to the best position regardless of what you cannot control. quit blaming others. dems have themselves to blame here, specifically Biden for picking a DEI candidate as his VP to reward Clyburn and then Biden for not stepping aside and letting the people have a choice as to who the dem candidate would be.

wake up every morning hoping it's just a bad dream, Trump with Paxson as AG and no threat of impeachment from house, senate or control by the supremes

Trust me, Gr8t, many people, I included, know how you feel. And indeed, the dem party was in control of one of the scenarios, but each of these entities was also in control of one. And all of them had to occur to get where we are. So I do appreciate that the Democrats should be considered one of the causes here, and they should think hard about how to do better. But I just don’t think we should consider them the only cause. The democrats ran an unattractive candidate, and yet you and I still managed not to vote for Trump. That alone tells us the Democratic candidate isn’t everything.
