Georgia loses their OC. Hopefully they replace him with someone more pedestrian in line with their past coordinators.

Unless he is taking 85 Georgia players with him does it really matter...most OC's could call the plays and win with the talent disparity they have against the other teams. Bama has been changing OC's and DC's all the time yet somehow they keep winning games.

Monken was quite good but their offense was still pretty good with Jim Chaney and Jake Fromm. I would not expect UGA to become like us under Muschamp but even just a little regression still helps us.

Yeah, not hugely impressed with UGA's "scheme" so much as their talent acquisition. One of the sad things about this era is that the latter has taken on so much importance that the former really doesn't matter like it used to. Yeah, a bad OC can screw things up, but even a mid-range OC could win you have that much of a talent advantage. Meanwhile, a great OC with mediocre talent has little to no chance of achieving great things. SOS at Duke, for instance, never happens today.

The midget qb they had simply managed a team with a massive high quality OL, future NFL RBs, WRs and an all world TE. Most of us could Offense Cord a generic play book to 10 wins.

I barely even watch college football these days but I think the spin with Monken isn't that he is a great schematic coach like Spurrier or Lincoln Riley of today but that he is an excellent situational play caller who can hit the kind of back breaking plays you need to win big games. That is what they would miss.

I'd rather take our chances with Bobo than Monken! I expect to see regression next year whether it's from the replacing the OC or QB.

Bobo was a longtime punching bag for us when we either had teams good enough to beat them or we could otherwise count on Richt blowing a game or two to keep them from the promised land, but he was actually a pretty successful OC.

2014: #4 total offense in SEC
2013: #4 total offense in SEC
2012: #3 total offense in SEC

Which big games did Napier call a back breaking play to win?

The entire last drive against Utah was brilliant. Run like a wild man AR, it’s the best offense we had.

Was slightly taller than Bryce Young. Most didn’t realize that.

Hopefully Bobo learned from Monken. Losing Monken hurts, no doubt.

    Just saw the news.

I'm on record here wishing we'd have thrown the man a couple million to come here.

    And now he's gone......

I truly hope Coach Napier turns out to be the offensive genius we need.......because I just didn't see it last season.

If our qb could’ve done the simple things, our offense may have been scary. They were pretty decent at times while floundering.
