Ha, there are actually this many people in the world that find Hooters some sort of sex show? Man, Big Lame is getting bigger everyday.

I'm torn on this between America being in an age of moral panics, or the sort of classic concern trolling you see over behaviors people see as hypocrisy.

I know what he was trying to say. He was trying to draw in an analogy between the decision by the mother to take her son to Hooters, which by the way was fine with me, and the mythical teaching of young children about sex and gender.

I mean there are surely some convenient grifters latching on, but the core is truly people who think Hooters is sex. I mean TBF, this is successful marketing as Hooters needs the outrage of the lamest to sell the barely less-lame on this non-product. But there are people on this very thread who think taking a kid into Hooters is meaningful in some way beyond socializing them to pay 500% markups for poor nutrition.

So you understand but call it a myth. SMH.
School choice is the answer. Govt schools would love to poison our children and turn them all into activists.

I think owls are some of the coolest animals on the planet. Support your local Audubon society.

Sex education is age appropriate. What is mythical is the absurd notion that young children are being taught about homosexuality and transgenderism. As far as "govt schools" are concerned they virtually always give parents the choice of opting out of sex education. While I cannot speak for every public school system in the country, it's been my experience that if parents do not want their kids to receive sex education they could always opt out. Beginning as early as first grade we were notified very early in the school year that students would be provided with "family values education" and that we could opt out if we chose to do so. Studies have indicated that comprehensive sex education is an effective tool at preventing unwanted pregnancies. If you want to prevent elective abortions to save "unborn children" it would be a good idea to provide comprehensive sex education to children 14 to 18 years following birth.

By the way children are going to learn some aspects of sexual relationships whether they are taught or not. When my son was in elementary school back in the '90s a book entitled "Heather Has Two Mommies" really triggered the religious right to the point in which they insisted that it be banned from school libraries. My son didn't have to read the book to learn that some adults had same sex relationships since one of his classmates literally had "two mommies". Although the actual back story was none of my business my assumption was that one of her mommies was previously in a heterosexual relationship.

Actually, it is all misguided. Going to Hooters for his 5th is right up there with giving him a smartphone. Not the best idea.

Can you imagine one of them at Hooters. They’d think it was a buffet.

I went to the original tik tok post. Maybe twenty comments out of thousands were anti-mom. Another fine example of outrage over faux outrage.

At least one USSC justice might argue against you on this premise, unless she makes a distinction between a woman and a girl old enough to legally serve alcohol (and bear a child).

I think people overestimate how sexualized Hooters girls are, particularly at the restaurants.

They're generally attractive women wearing tight clothing showing a little cleavage. These aren't exactly strippers, burlesque dancers, or drag queens.

That's without even getting into the discussion that his parents chose to take him there. I don't want elementary schools taking kids to drag queen story hour, but I'm generally of the opinion that parents should have a lot of rope in how they want to raise their kids. Obviously we have to draw the line somewhere, I really don't think Hooters is where. :D

Taking your little kid to hooters is way better than a dog at the beach.
