Pirates trained where I grew up, but always hated em. Didn't help that as a teen I played on their field which was 410 to center and had a 20 ft high wall. No HRs there unless it was inside the park.

 

Sarasota?

I saw a spring training game there. The only notable things about the game was a female home plate blue and Dick Vitale was sitting not very far away from me.

 

Ft Myers. I thought they moved to Bradenton several years ago, but it could be Sarasota. I believe the Red Sox and Twins now train in FM. As I recall, Vitale lives up the highway in the Bradenton area.

 

You are right about Bradenton and not Sarasota. My mistake.

 

Eh, Bradenton, Sarasota, etc is all the same if you dont live in the area.

 

I like Sarasota better. They have the Selby Botanical Gardens.

 

Yea, St Armands Circle and the respective Keys beat Anna Marie Island for me, but neither downtown does much for me.
