Great trivia question. What HOF player hit a home run in his first MLB at bat and then never hit another one?

Nope, but he was the opposite of Nolan. Began as a starter and became a relief pitcher while Nolan started as a relief pitcher and became a starter.

    That is a HUGE hint.

And this will give it away: As a starter he no hit the Yankees.

To me, the issue is MLB is all HRs and Ks these days, no small ball which I enjoy. I still check in for the post season but that's about it. I used to watch every Marlins game on tv (Braves before that) and we went to 20-30 games a year but ownership greed pretty much killed it for us.
Wife is much happier also since she has more access to the remote control. ;)

You can now win bar bets with this one.

An even crazier trivia question is who played right field for the Yankees just before they got Babe Ruth? Hint: He is the in HOF multiple times in a different sport.

The answer is George Halas. He was the last right fielder for the Yankees last game before they got The Babe.

I was born and raised in St. Pete in the '50's when the Yankees had a farm team there-St. Petersburg Saints. I was a big Yankees fan and Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra and Whitey Ford were my favorites.
