But have we really been taking guys out of position at safety and LB? I really don’t know. Are our LBs smallish/slowish? Seems to me that even an inept staff would end up with suitable talent if taking 2-3 promising prospects each cycle. We took something like 15 DBs in two Mullen cycles. I’m not sure we yet know if our issues are talent, position, or scheme. Hard to believe we only have one LB commit all things considered.

Yes. Was wondering what UCLA’s SOS is compared to ours. Darn shame if Utah is overrated although when we played they didn’t appear to be.

Yes. We have people all over the defense playing positions they were not natural to. Dean started at corner. Burney was a safety. Black was a safety . Wingo was a defensive end. It goes on and on. Occasionally that's normal. Jevon Kearse was a safety in high-school but we have made a living doing it because we couldn't or wouldn't recruit and took stars over needs

You start talking about offense, now defense. Have a cold brew and call my assistant for future debates...namaste.

AR is NOT a pocket passer and may never be but time will tell. He HAS to run for us to be effective.
I'm convinced our DC runs a bend but don't break D. That may limit scores but it allows teams to eat clock and limit our O touches. Notice the high percentage of pass completions by other teams. It's not a mistake, it's keeping everything in front. Rarely are passes contested. Result, lots of close games especially against good teams. So, get used to it because it isn't going to change with this DC. We are in game 6, it is what it is.

So first off I love Napier in most situations of coaching. But can we talk about the use of Timeouts? This is the second time I’ve seen him call a TO that helped the other team. If he is conserving time for us to March down the field then ok, I’m on board. He called a TO with 20 something seconds left in the half, MIZZ would have had to run their kick team out there and kick the FG, but we called TO. Why? We went into V-formation to close the half. Doesn’t make sense, can someone enlighten me in case there’s an angle I don’t see here?

I believe it was because UF had too many men on the field. Would've given Mizzou a first down and time to take a couple of shots to the end zone.

Mizzou maybe wins 5 maybe even 6 and makes a bowl but I’m telling you they are better than people think. They gave their last 3 games away, especially Auburn. If they make just one more play against Georgia they beat them… In fact we have been the only team in the last three or four weeks to truly beat them and even then the pick six was a giveaway on their end.

I know another thread about this but gotta say it…..

last year we lose to Mizzou no question in a tight game like this.

FSU lost most ( gave game away).

    Miami lost again.

Another poster said it and he deserves a 10X award winner emoji when he said “ the coffee tasted a little better this morning”.

You really don't need to translate my remarks. I don't appreciate someone with your perspective telling me what i was saying. I think my remarks speak for themselves and most here can understand what i was saying.

I’m talking about quick scores…you can do that on defense too. That negatively impacts ToP

You talked about not enough plays —- we score fast. Then you talk about eating up a lot of clock (time of posssesion). I’m just using your words.

Coach was asked that at the press conference, he said no such thing. It was to make sure everyone was set and ready to rush the kick.

Sooooo... to match up with someone we need to go against someone who doesn't run it up the middle and who has a mediocre QB that can't pass very well.

I’m all ears. Easy to say “we want to blitz th QB and smother their receivers”. I said our style of defense is eventually degrading. Would you want to play it?

We badly need a big safety that will make receivers think "I aint going across the middle"

Going old school but Jarvis Williams and Lou Oliver made you think twice about going across the middle. Those hits HURT.

It's 2 weeks in a row that he has had a terrible tackle attempt mixed in with some good plays. I guess that shows why he gets limited time.
