I’ve not seen anyone have episodes like this before. What’s the underlying medical condition? Seizures, mini strokes? Precursor to the big one?

I think McConnell and Feinstein should hook up.
Perfect match, made in the halls of Gov't horror.

He needs to retire immediately. This is obviously an issue that has him in decline.

I had this happen to a laser distance meter I used to own. The batteries would normally last for months at a time, but for some reason, it started draining the batteries overnight, even when I made sure it was turned off. Not sure what the problem was. It would work OK with new batteries for a day, then just quit on me the next day. Had to get a new one.

MAGA nation swore up and down that Biden would be the one having health issues while giving public speeches, looks like they should’ve been worried about one of their own instead

That was hard to watch. I feel for him - but he has stayed too late to the party and it’s clearly time to go.

I don’t think Mitch is running again so this is all a moot point.

But with regards to your neighbor - I agree it really depends on the person. But there needs to be limits in place to prevent this sort of thing from happening. Sure we will lose some perfectly capable public servants to retirement but it would help us avoid this sort of thing.

Just one more thing the founding fathers didn’t envision.

Hard to watch. I’ll never make fun of someone for growing old, and can’t stand when it’s done in a partisan political way. It’s incredibly distasteful.

Agree, and I think about 70 years old would be a good cut-off.

McConnell isn’t going anywhere. He steps down and the states Dem Governor would appoint his successor. He won’t go for that.

The governor has to appoint a Republican successor, I believe.

I think McConnell should retire no doubt but asserting Biden is capable is ludicrous. The guy can’t even make a cogent speech and refuses to take questions because his responses are completely nonsensical. They all need to be put out to pasture with the quickness.

The retirement age for any member of Congress, the Executive branch, or Supreme Court should be 79 years, 364 days, hard stop, regardless of where they are in their term, how ever much their party “needs” them to hold on to that position a little longer, or how “special” they think their aging process is. For those who truly are unique vigorous and mentally capable, great, they can serve as unofficial advisors. Too much turns on the decisions these people make to worry about hurting their feelings. Everyone gets old. And eventually everyone gets too old to effectively do their job.

McConnell needs to go, but I don’t think there should be a maximum age limit for politicians. It’s on the voters to decide if electing someone who’s 80 years old or will be 80 years old by end of term is a good idea or not. It’s not as if someone is forcing us to vote for a politician that old. An age limit would be anti-democratic.

More accurately: the people who own McConnell are not going to allow him to step down. His successor will be bought and paid for as well.
