I assume people who claim they are Christian are Christian. If people actually had to truly follow the teachings of Christ to be considered Christian, we'd have way fewer Christians in this country.

Seems to me that this story is mostly good news. The bad news is when the religious organization looks the other way. This guy was caught and brought to justice. It's possible that the church had a role in seeing him brought to justice. I don't think Christian clergy or laymen are any more likely to sexually abuse children than any other religious leaders. Historically, they've been more prone to protecting the offender and keeping the public from finding out.

IIRC, i posted in the first 2 pages, questioning if anyone else saw what i saw (the kid coming at the shooter).

It was a very unpopular take, but it was honest, dry legal, and not racist at all. And it wasn't "a hill worth dying on" -- which is to say, I wasnt 'adament' about it either.

What IS telling about you bringing that up here... is confirmation of my initial point, about you being brainwashed to seeing racism based on a take that doesn't gel with yours.
