Judged when he was running with the 2’s versus the 1’s. I certainly don’t know how to judge quarterbacks, but I thought he had a pretty quick release. And I get it that our 1’s on defense may not have been worldbeaters, but the second string offense certainly wasn’t.
If Trask in the bowl game struggled mightily, how can we expect Miller with no game reps this year to perform well. Our only savior this year is our running game. Hopefully takes the pressure off him but he will be going against a stacked box so he will have to throw the ball some.
I’m sure he throws the ball quite well. He holds the AZ state high school record for most career yards an TD’s and missed a year due to shoulder injury. He’s was a 5* prior to missing that year.
Trask accomplished what he did with a zero run game. Every team knew he was going to throw on almost every down. They usually brought the house. His accomplishments were amazing. I can only imagine what he would have done if teams had to respect the run.
AR was totally wasted this year. It's like having a Bugatti when you are in your early 20's. Miller will have better reads if he has time to throw. Folks will then say 'should have played him earlier" Looking forward to the win!
He’s never played at this level but was a 4 star recruit. Praying this is just one of those guys that needs to be in game to see full potential because how did a 4 star recruit get left behind so long?
QB recruiting can vary widely, none of them have ever faced a college rush and most have never made 2 or 3 checkdowns in a play. When you go to a school that brings in an elite qb almost every year easy to get lost in the shuffle and who knows when the only time you see is in practice. Lets just say if it was all about arm strength, speed, and size we'd be in a helluva lot better bowl than this one.
Shorter declared for the NFL draft and is sitting out the bowl game. Here's the depth chart: Florida Las Vegas Bowl depth chart notes and injury report
