I don't think there's much harm in getting very creative for the bowl game. See what our wideouts can do running it. Run some option. Let a RB throw it. The game is pure scrimmage at this point. Get a lot of guys on the field and experiment.
If you think back over the past 7-8 years the #1, 2 and 3 QBs for Ohio State have all been above avg or good. Braxton Miller. JT Barrett. Cardale Jones. Joe Burrow. Justin Fields. CJ Stroud. Kyle McCord. I can think of only one they signed who was in the top 3 on their depth chart that was a bum and that was the dwarf Teeter the Tot who is now a pink haired girl on Yellowstone. So Jack Miller was to be their #2 and left to become our #2 until he got hurt. So if history plays out, he will not be "bad" or below average. He could very well be a good QB. Ohio St does not sign crap at qb.
I hope all of the Coaches sitting in their armchairs will give him a chance. Oh wait. They don't have a vote. I think he will be like Kyle Trask, without the KT back story. Then, everyone can say, "I knew it along. I was just about to say it" and "if only he had not got hurt, where would we be?"
I don’t think many are scared to run him out there but if he were to get hurt early like he did this year then what? Rashada and Brown and you can’t sign one off waivers. Maybe we are ok with a walkon being 4?
Crazy how different some programs have been regarding their QB rooms and success compared to ours. Solid post and great point
Damn players talking about how good Jack Miller is; just STFU and not give them anything to prepare for.
I see what you did there. You’re right, of course. If he was good, he wouldn’t have been third string. Still, we just need him to be decent. Do enough to compliment our running game.
