The era of climate denying, Trumpets, Christo-Fascists, anti-choice trains of thought will go by the wayside. I'm proud of my generation.

People change. I mean, Bob Stinson got kicked out of the mats for being a drunk?!?!?!*

    * even more evidence that people change, Paul claimed it was cuz he was not a good enough guitar player.

a sniff of fam, fortune, responsibility or whatever, changes people

p.s. In 1981 no one woulda predicted a slick, Memphis-y mats tune WITH horns. love that tune by the way

You are proud of what? Do you realize that most Boomers were Democrats in the 80s right? Including your boy Trump.

It is encouraging to see higher turnout. A functioning republic needs that. Also good to see more participation by younger voters.

I can't believe young voters aren't into tax breaks for the wealthy, stripping people's rights, and dumbass conspiracy theories. Shocking.

The typical republican response to this type of news would be to suggest a vote age of 21-25. Let’s see which one suggests it first, shall we...

I'm proud that a generation that has gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to the economy, erosion of basic fundamental human rights, increased corporate greed and profit, and the endangering of environmental areas around the world.....looked at the rotted husk of hatred and American politics (the Republican party in general) and decided that enough is enough and voted against the complete lunatics serving as candidates. Good bye Boebert, Oz, Mastriano, Lake, Zeldin and every other hate mongering scumbag.

You sound like those people that think the country is over when their candidate loses

But maybe he wasn't a good enough guitar player because he was drunk all the time? I do really love his playing on Seen Your Video in particular. He was good, but clearly had to go. If you've been in a band with a hopeless drug addict, and I don't doubt that you have, you know how it goes. But yeah, people change.

You left out Christian nationalism, although I guess that kinda overlaps with all of the above.

So your proud that you got the short end of the stick so to speak and happy that some politicians that you don't know personally will try and solve something for you. You might want to grab some books and read them, especially the ones that say history on them. Your generation has had it the easiest in the history of human civilization.

But, my pt is that drunkiness was who the mats were. Further, it seems Paul encouraged it. He saw the whole live thing as drunken performance art. There is even evidence that Paul faked his drunkenness. A lot of folks don't know that they had huge musical/direction of the band differences. Bob wanted to go the Johnny Thunders/Heartbreakers route & Paul wanted to be more commercial.

edit. clearly this post lost the pt as I guess I just wanted to talk mats.
