In1970, 11.1 percent of the population was black (and a lower percentage of adults). They were 12.6 percent of the casualties in Vietnam.
Even in NK, though the army had just integrated, 9.2 percent of casualties were AA while they were 10 percent of the population, and again adult population would have been lower.

Of course this is horseshit. In 2022, 68.8% of active-duty members identified as White, while 31.2% identified as a racial minority. White people make up 71% of the population in the US.

Years ago on a different board this one poster got angry and left. He was kind of strange. Then shortly after a new poster showed up who claimed to be his cousin. They had the exact same odd posting style.

I have witnessed no such disgruntlement among the white, conservative Christians I serve(d) with. We all get along greatly for the most part. We are all comrades. Sorry to disappoint.

 

The numbers have been declining for decades. This is not a new phenomenon yet I bet you've read some right wing rag saying that it's new and is blaming DEI. Go to the actual source and you will see the long term trend

I've never been a fan of the draft generally, but as long as we're going to have it, I have no problem with women being included.

 

If we're at the point where we need to conduct draft, we're likely beyond the point where being sexist would be a first order concern. Take the population segment that is most physically able, and get them ready to fight as rapidly as you can. Expand the population segment as need for additional warm bodies grows in an effort to preserve as much of your society as you can while making the best broad-stroke decisions you can.

It's grim, but so is war.
