Thank you for agreeing that walls don't work. Israel had a lot more reasons for their wall to work. It fell in minutes and stopped nothing. What makes anyone think a wall over 4X longer covering much more difficult terrain would be any more successful?

Also, the bill doesn’t do that. Maybe read it instead of relying on twitter. 5,000 is a number that establishes when emergency action is authorized. It’s like saying if it rains 6 inches an hour for two days it’s an emergency. That does not itself actually allow rain. You get that right?

What goalpost? 5K of people per day is almost 2 million per day plus all the illegals that don't get caught. So if 4,800 people come across a day(1.75Million) nothing happens LOL. Great plan! I used language from the GOP’s last bill to demonstrate my point. I posted the actual law you claimed allows 5,000 in so you could see it. You ignored it all and responded by typing lol and calling me hyper partisan. You might want to look in the mirror.

 

If under 5,000 the whole bill outlines the normal procedures that handle, which are significantly more stringent than what is in place. That section was put in at the urging of the republicans who wanted to have escalating powers on surges. It doesnt undo the whole bill. An honest evaluation by you would determine you are mistaken. Take the loss like an adult.

 

Anyone here in the US could live with 4,000 illegals getting into the US per year illegally if that is your contention. Do you realize how dumb you sound? If we build a wall that covers the southern border and you told me 11 people crossed per day then I'd call that a resounding success compared to the 10 million that have crossed in Biden's term. I know math is tough for you but 4,000 is a little less than 10 million. If we do that for 4 years that's about 16k illegal crossing which is only about 625 times less than what was done so far in the Biden Presidency. I'll go with the lower number thanks. It does not. It specifies specifically the criteria required to enter the US on asylum which is more requiring than today and it sets infrastructure to handle in weeks not years. There is no 5,000 a day get out of jail free card. All it does is provide the president with additional power to handle people so they don’t overwhelm the process it set up.

You were told that by people who didn’t think you would put in the effort to find out if they were lying to you. It starts on page 205. And if you want to see the new asylum guidelines it’s on page 201/202.

Biden’s handling of the border crisis has been a disaster, including his recent PR visit to Brownsville, TX last week where he looked like he was completely out of touch.

I am as critical of Trump as anyone but to blame him for Biden’s incompetence in getting the border under control is ridiculous. It’s all on Joe and Kamala (she still is the VP, correct?).
