Michigan AG charges felonies to 16 2020 fake electors

A plan to assassinate the Vice President is about as serious an accusation as there is. I haven't seen a reputable news source report that anyone tied to Trump actually planned in advance to kill Pence to keep Trump in power. It's possible I could have missed it or maybe it's because it's only been reported on trash news sites on the left that are the equivalent of alex jones.

Ok thanks - I see. We could quibble over the definition of plan but I thought I may have missed something where someone in Trump's circle was caught planning to kill Pence as a Plan B or Plan C.

 

I wouldn't say Trump planned it, but according to the Jan 6th witnesses from inside the White House, they say Trump knew about the threats directed towards Pence -- namely that they wanted to hang him -- and Trump responded by saying 'Pence deserves it'.

The original plan was to have Pence do Trump's bidding and overturn the election and kick it back to gop controlled state legislatures to pick electors to put their orange god back in the wh. When Pence refused, that's when the " hang Mike Pence" crap started.

That's why at 2:24 PM on Jan. 6 when it became official Pence wasn't going to do it, Trump posted this tweet to let the rioters know what their mission was.

 

The presumptive nominee of the GOP, ladies and gentlemen. Just trying to overthrow democracy. No biggie.

 

That makes zero sense. There is no line of succession to be vice president, only president. If the VP position becomes vacant, the president nominates a successor who must be approved by both Houses of Congress.

If Pence had been taken out on Jan 6, the then president pro tem of the Senate, Chuck Grassley, would have replaced him pursuant to Art 1, Sec 3 of the Constitution as far as presiding over the Senate that day. There is no scenario under which Pompeo would have served in that role....none.

 

Oh so that is why on Jan. 5 Grassley said he didn't expect Pence to be there. Thanks for clarifying.

If that mob had gotten their hands on Pence, Pelosi and others and killed them, the theory is Trump would have used that as a pretext to declare en emergency and stay in power that way instead.

 

If the mob had gotten to any of those you mentioned there would be a lot of dead rioters. The police would have had no other choice than to shoot every damn one of them.
