The plan was illegal and they knew it.

They didn't care. Their entire plan was to create chaos with the election results and hope it would work out. It almost did.

The evidence was always here for this. These are paper crimes. These idiots signed onto fraudulent documents claiming they were electors when they were not. Signing such a certificate and presenting it as legitimate is fraud. Crystal clear. These people are all screwed. More MAGA dummies ruining their lives over con artist Trump.

fyi. This came from James Bates. After the Fla/tn game where we went up 35-0, he sez on national TV something like yeah people started leaving before halftime. I guess the Jeff Foxworthy shows on or something. Classic

If it came to it, it would only be illegal if SCOTUS said it was illegal ... and they are 6-3 with 3 Trump appointees so maybe the liked the odds. While I'd be hopeful that SCOTUS would do the right thing, it's worth noting that SCOTUS's opposition to expanding the VP's power is coming while a Democrat is VP.

No. It’s illegal because none of the fake electors were sent there by the states. It is much simpler than what SCOTUS decided. SCOTUS rejected the independent state legislature doctrine. Even if the doctrine was valid, the states didn’t send the Michigan competing slate or the others. The executed certificates were false and they were submitted with the intent of having the real certificates rejected. That is fraud on the states and the United States.

It's illegal out of the blocks. Don't need to SCOTUS to declare something to be a crime in order for it to be a crime.

Yeah, I agree with you that it should be illegal. But we have a Scotus that does mental gymnastics to support partisan ideology. I mean, if Gore had had the slight edge in 2000, and Bush was demanding a recount, I think Scotus would have concluded that it was more important to get the election results correct than to meet the deadline to certify ...

Trump was practically begging SCOTUS to take up his cases and there was certainly an uneasy feeling about what would/could happen if they did.

Yeah, that's a fair point, but the two were related. If Pense had refused to accept the state sent electors, these were supposed to be alternative electors on hand for the legislature to consider. I mean, it was all part of the same game, and we had no idea at the time of SCOTUS would take up the case and give this validity. Which is why I don't like seeing what they did being downplayed as a few rouge idiots trying to defraud the election system ... they were part of a GOP conspiracy that went right up to the President.

Haven't read all of that but was thinking about this yesterday. Lying about the plan, the process, and subsequently trying to cover it would seem to be very strong evidence that they were not attempting to put forth some novel legal argument in good faith.

There was a statement by a Proud Boy leader or Meadows or someone stating that "we just have to get this case in front of (Clarence) Thomas."

Don't forget all of these shadow docket orders this court has issued from one justice with no input from any of the rest.

Exactly. Most significantly, IMO, was the rejection of the qualifying language on advice of counsel about the qualified purposes,

And once Pence refused the plan was to kill him and Pelosi so that Pompeo would become VP and he would do it.

Wait...what? Was that an actual plan formulated by someone? I know there were the hang Mike Pence chants but I haven't seen that it was anything other than mob mentality. I'd be completely shocked if there's any evidence, documentation, or witnesses demonstrating that there was a plan to kill Pence.

I'd imagine from your posting history that you have excellent information sources such as Alex Jones and Gateway Pundit.

Try Googling "Willard Hotel War Room" and see what information you find about 1/6.

Needless to say it didn't exactly get published by Random House, but here is circumstantial evidence we have in addition to the moron rioter chanting to hang Mike Pence.
