crazy how UF getting rid of [redacted] and [redacted] has improved our NIL and recruiting ten fold. Didn't it seem like last year their recruiting board consisted of going after whatever recruit UF was after and outbidding us for that kid. My have times changed now that we don't have incompetence spear heading NIL
Thanks for all the info, Bobby. I doubt they win many if any of those recruits, but I do see OSU siging good recruiting class. What I'm wondering is why aren't we even in it for this guy below. https://247sports.com/Player/Aydin-Breland-46109373/
It’s funny almost every single one of them blames money, and the majority seem to think that Mario can just cut whatever checks he wants to whoever he wants. (We have some of those guys too) Like it’s his checkbook and the funds are infinite. One day folks are gonna learn that these staffs don’t have control of the NIL checkbooks. Or maybe not.. The staffs still have to put in a ton of work, but they’re also very dependent on a third party to get the money part of the deals done. Even the best recruiters will struggle if the money deals aren’t getting done. Likewise, the money all by itself isn’t going to get it done for a lot of these kids, the staffs still have to do their part too. Did the Ruiz bubble finally pop? Is Mario not quite as awesome as everyone thought? Little of both? Lot of both?
I read all 8 pages of comments. Reality is setting in with most of those fans ... getting back to the glory days is going to be a chore. Mario's specialty is recruiting and he is not having a huge impact this year. If Miami didn't have the talent in their backyard, I'm curious where they'd be. Would they be another "Iowa State" and have one good year every 10 years? They don't have a lot to sell recruits: Small Alum base. Worst P5 Conference. Terrible game day atmosphere. NIL is dependent on one guy. It didn't sound like they have a functioning collective. Bare minimum support from the Univ. Admin. Reading that board made me feel even better about our future with Billy...and I was already on board. On day one, Billy invested in programs designed for life after football, built a huge staff, upgraded facilities, improved work outs/nutrition, etc ... Miami has none of that. They have Ruiz and talent in their backyard. That will keep them in the discussion but they are way behind.
